As a serial problem solver, Zach has impacted the CNN newsroom by bringing together developers and creatives to aid audiences in discovering a wider breadth of content beyond breaking news.

Machine learning, personalization and A/B testing are spaces Zach collaborates in to find the perfect mix of stories that keep users coming back.

Zach currently creates actionable feedback to help content and product teams quickly reach decisions on how to fine-tune delivery of compelling video, photo and text content for maximum engagement. He’s applied this skill set in helping lead editorial onto a new content management system, launching new versions of the CNN app and creating audience referral strategies for the biggest initiatives in news.

Executive producing CNN’s Stonewall 50th Pride and Progress storytelling project is a highlight of his time at CNN.

Before CNN, Zach built apps for local TV out of the KMOV newsroom in St. Louis, Missouri.

Zach is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism Honors College with degrees in Convergence Journalism and Political Science.
