Question edit

Hi there, thanks for all your input to the recent discussions. I was just wondering: are you thinking about creating a Minecraft book? --Jules (Mrjulesd) 18:12, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Mrjulesd:, yes. There’s more than enough content for many Minecraft books. Also, most of the games that I have are for my XBox also uploading screenshots will take a bit longer. Also, I think it makes sense to use as examples popular games because those are the ones people are most likely to want to write about (so to make sure the policy works out properly). -Gifnk dlm 2020 (discusscontribs) 18:45, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Cool. I think obviously the main trouble will be with images. Now if you have questions about image copyright a good place to ask will be c:Commons:Village pump/Copyright. Now if your images can't be hosted at Commons, you may still be able to host them here; we are currently debating the rules at Wikibooks:Reading room/Proposals#Is Wikibooks:Media#Non-free use to restrictive? if you care to take a look. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 19:15, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

minecraft pictures edit

Could you add the minecraft pictures? I think they are put under fair use. Pizza0614 (discusscontribs) 16:11, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Pizza0614:, I also think that they are fair use but from what I understand, in the past the rules in English Wikibooks about fair use were very strict (it was legal, but against Wikibooks policies) but recently there was a discussion and they decided to make it less strict. I haven’t followed the discussion so it’s better to ask in the reading room (I think general). Also, fair use must be uploaded to Wikibooks, not to commons, and to do this you either need to have uploader rights or ask someone who has, but I’m not sure were I should upload them for the uploaders to see. -Gifnk dlm 2020 (discusscontribs) 17:01, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
If you need to upload fair-use pictures, please apply at WB:RFP for uploader rights. It is fine to upload fair-use pictures for your books, but please comply with WB:FU. If you need any further explanation please ask. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 17:11, 15 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Would you like to add pictures to Minecraft resource gathering? edit

A question for you: would you like to add pictures to Minecraft resource gathering?

If you would, I can give you uploader rights, and you can locally upload fair use images to Wikibooks; they can then be used for your book. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 10:04, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Mrjulesd:, I would like to upload images, but right now I’m a bit busy so I don’t think I will be able to make screenshots and upload them in the near future. Also, I think it would be better to first finish writing all the content and then make screenshots that are related. -Gifnk dlm 2020 (discusscontribs) 11:46, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
OK I've decided to give you uploader rights as you might need it in the future. If you need to locally upload non-free media, see the directions at WB:UPLOAD; freely licensed and public domain images should be uploaded to Commons instead. Screenshots of Minecraft will probably be non-free media. The criteria for uploading is at WB:FU; if you've got any questions please ask me. And thanks again for all your input at the recent proposals. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 14:12, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Mrjulesd:, cool! Thank you very much! -Gifnk dlm 2020 (discusscontribs) 15:46, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Btw, am I an uploader permanently or will this permission expire eventually? Thanks in advance, -Gifnk dlm 2020 (discusscontribs) 15:50, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
There is no expiry date at this time. Leaderboard (discusscontribs) 15:53, 17 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Issue with your editing edit

Evidence indicates that you are behind the account Your favorite emperor which has been indefinitely blocked for making harassing edits. Rather than just blocking you immediately, I'm giving you the opportunity to explain first. QuiteUnusual (discusscontribs) 14:45, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

@QuiteUnusual I've just posted to SRG already, but you still might have more knowledge of this abuser: Given m:Steward requests/Checkuser/2021-10#C64 is the best computer@incubator and the similar "Columbus" edits, I am pretty sure that Special:CentralAuth/C64 is the best computer can be safely locked as a sock of the "Your favorite emperor" account now as well. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 14:06, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Minecraft resource gathering edit

I am going to nominate you for admin. edit

Do you accept? T. Gregtregretgtr (discusscontribs) 21:30, 12 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Tgregtregretgtr:, I’m not interested in becoming an admin. Thanks anyways. -Gifnk dlm 2020 Happy New Year 🎄❄️⛄️🎇 (talk) 09:02, 13 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

You welcomed a banned user. edit

Just wanted to let you know. T. Gregtregretgtr (discusscontribs) 17:35, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Tgregtregretgtr:, just curious to know, which user is that? I just welcomed all users in Special:RecentChanges, with filtering to show only new editors who don’t have a talk page. -Gifnk dlm 2020 From Middle English Wikipedia 📜📖💻 (talk) 18:14, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Tgregtregretgtr:, actually about this user I saw he was banned. I think I saw that 3 days after welcoming me, and if I’m not mistaken I welcomed him before he was banned. Could be wrong. -Gifnk dlm 2020 From Middle English Wikipedia 📜📖💻 (talk) 19:34, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Don't think they were banned, just locked, but the comment "Lock evasion: PhrasebookMasterBot" suggests that their master account was locked on 10 January. 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 11:40, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
@1234qwer1234qwer4:, what’s the difference between a banned account and a locked one? -Gifnk dlm 2020 From Middle English Wikipedia 📜📖💻 (talk) 12:02, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
w:WP:BLOCKBANDIFF, pretty much, with the global equivalent of a ban being a m:global ban and the global equivalent of a block being a (global) lock (which additionally disables the ability to log in to the account). 𝟙𝟤𝟯𝟺𝐪𝑤𝒆𝓇𝟷𝟮𝟥𝟜𝓺𝔴𝕖𝖗𝟰 (𝗍𝗮𝘭𝙠) 12:06, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hey. edit

You should use edit summaries more often. Also, all that "CheckUser" stuff, I saw a talk page post without doing any more resaerch. Also, the admin request, it was so this wiki can be better. T. Gregtregretgtr (discusscontribs) 17:41, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Tgregtregretgtr:, ok I will. I refused the admin request because I don’t think I will use any of the admin privileges. I’m not mad on you for submitting it twice. -Gifnk dlm 2020 From Middle English Wikipedia 📜📖💻 (talk) 18:00, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, because admins are saying I'm a troll. Thanks for apologizing. T. Gregtregretgtr (discusscontribs) 18:02, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
