Summary

Statue of Dionysus (Sardanapalus) from the Museo Palazzo Massimo Alle Terme, in Rome, Italy.

I took this photograph myself.

This type of statue of Dionysus is referred to as 'Sardanapalus' because of the inscription on the Vatican, which came from a Roman villa. Apparently the wealthy owner of the villa added the inscription, because he associated the wealthy, opulent presentation of Dionysus with the Assyrian king Sardanapalus.
