English: Hieroglyphs on the back-pillar of Amenhotep III's statue (reigned 1390-1352 BCE). There are 2 places where Akhenaten's agents erased the name Amun, later restored on a deeper surface. It appears on the left in a cartouche enclosing the birth name "Amenhotep", and on the right in the epithet "beloved of Amun-Ra". The British Museum, London.
