Category:Articles with redirect hatnotes impacted by RfD: Difference between revisions

This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories. This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme. This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (Appearance → Show hidden categories) is set. These categories can be used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience. These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications).

Template:Redirect, and similar templates using Module:Redirect hatnote, add pages here. When a hatnote claims that a page redirects there, but it doesn't actually redirect there, it usually indicates an error or a need to update the hatnote, and such pages are categorized at Category:Articles with redirect hatnotes needing review. If a redirect is listed at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion, however, the redirect may be correct in the meantime. This category catches cases where the redirect page is calling an RfD module, filtering them out from the main review category. Pages here may still have problems needing resolution with their hatnote redirect targets.

Occasionally, a null edit to the page is all that's needed to remove an article from this category, such as after a redirect it references is no longer tagged for RfD.
