MeL pays for state-wide access to over 40 commercial databases, contains librarian-recommended Web sites on topics such as genealogy and business, economics and labor, and hosts MeLCat, a statewide borrowing system that allows users to place their own interlibrary loan requests if they belong to a participating library. An upcoming component of MeL is digitized collections of primary resource materials in Michigan's history.
