The result of the move request was: No consensus (and low participation). As BennyOnTheLoose pointed out, we sometimes do keep sponsor names in the titles when there is no better alternative, and this could easily be one of these situations. 1985 Kit Kat Break for World Champions → 1985 Break for World Champions – we don't usually have sponsor names in titles for events (see 2020 Masters etc. This one is a bit different, as it is clearly a play on words with the "break" being a slogan for Kit Kat. As this was only played once, it's a bit different, but I still don't feel we should be emphasising the sponsor of the event, the same as we do for other events. Comment. We do have some older tournaments where the sponsor's name is currently included. Looking at the 1979–80 snooker season, we have the Limosin International, the Kronenbrau 1308 Classic, Padmore Super Crystalate International, Tolly Cobbold Classic, Pontins Professional and Pontins Camber Sands as the links for tournaments - two of which would potentially just be the "International" if sponsors names are removed. In 1978–79 snooker season there are the Holsten Lager International, Forward Chemicals Tournament, Tolly Cobbold Classic, Pontins Professional, and Golden Masters. We could keep sponsor names only where needed for disambiguation, I guess, so I'm not objecting to the proposed change - although my personal preference (rather than policy-based argument) would be to keep the 1985 "break" tournament title as it is.
