The title of this article should really be Centralization with the Oxford standard English z. A minor change I know, but Wikipedia should really be consistent. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.227.74.128 (talk) 14:52, 8 October 2010 (UTC) No, I believe it should be centralized system as I is easier to refer to it as a system and to understand. Centralisation could be anything in the world but th e word "system" just adds meaning to the whole thing.41.190.218.90 (talk) 11:57, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[1]Reply

  • Oppose: Centralisation (or Centralization) has different meanings depending on context, this is what the article needs to explain, the different uses in engineering, science, business, politics, etc. Lbertolotti (talk) 22:16, 23 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Recent name change edit

Rupert loup, regarding your recent move of the article, move changes like this should be discussed beforehand, per WP:Requested moves. It is not common for Wikipedia to unnecessarily disambiguate. You will notice that centralisation currently redirects to this article. It does not need to become a disambiguation page. Pinging BD2412, who deals with disambiguation and move issues, for their thoughts on this. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 17:50, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Reverted, per WP:RM. Discussion and consensus is generally required before carrying out page moves such as this one. bd2412 T 18:11, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, BD2412. Rupert loup, you can start a WP:Requested moves discussion and make your case that way. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 18:58, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Consensus seeking to change name of article to "Centralization" from current spelling edit

I would like to move to change the name of this article from "Centralisation" as it is now, to "Centralization." This seems to have been raised numerous times over the years, and frankly, if no one really opposes, I'd be happy to make the change myself. I am seeking consensus though before making the change per standard protocol in these cases. Thanks! Th78blue (They/Them/Their • talk) 02:09, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

No, the spelling is correct! 194.34.206.36 (talk) 14:10, 25 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Can we remove/edit the "Distribution" image? edit

"Centralisation" and "Decentralisation" both have a fairly exact meaning whereas what distinguishes "Distribution" and "Distibuted Decentralisation" is not clear and not explained in the article. As far as I can tell, both are just examples of decentralisation. I can see that distribution seems to lack "leaf nodes" as they might be described as per graph theory. Can someone explain or otherwise removr this point of confusion? Nbrader (talk) 22:39, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
