Addition to the stereotypes, racism and cultural bias edit

I have added some more writing to this part. Hoping that the information is in the right section — Preceding unsigned comment added by MlLa-k (talkcontribs) 17:55, 11 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

The result of this discussion was do not merge. There was, however, an consensus to merge Board book into Picture book. Dan Bloch (talk) 02:48, 8 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

This sourceless is better served as paragraph in more established article. Coin945 (talk) 11:37, 14 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps, but not this one. A board book is an object, not a kind of literature. I suggest Book#By physical format or Picture book, which already mentions board books. Robina Fox (talk) 17:57, 14 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Agree with the alternative target of Picture book for Board book; it could be put into its own section there. Klbrain (talk) 13:44, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I'm fine with Picture book; strongly disagree with Children's literature. There's no good place to put it in this article. Dan Bloch (talk) 03:25, 5 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

Suggested split edit

The result of this discussion was not to split based on my understanding of WP:SIZERULE, which wasn't contested by any other editor. Dan Bloch (talk) 19:49, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

At more than 150kB, this article is too long, according to WP:SIZERULE, and should be split. I'd suggest lifting out the "Literary Criticism" section to make a new article, while writing a brief summary with a "Main" hatnote for here. Suggested title of the new article: Social issues in children's literature.

Other possible new articles would be on British children's literature and American children's literature, both overrepresented in this article's National traditions section. --- Robina Fox (talk) 21:30, 8 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

 • I'm not seeing this as over 150kB. WP:SIZERULE specifies "readable prose size", and Page size from the Tools dropdown says "Prose size (text only): 69 kB (10976 words)". Dan Bloch (talk) 21:36, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why No Edith Nesbit? edit

Now, of course I realize that there are thousands, and even MILLIONS, of works of children's literature Out There, and that it would be quite impossible to list them all. But, even so -- and having said that -- how on Earth do you have an article on Children's Literature, and never mention the name of Edith Nesbit so much as ONCE??? The Grand Rascal (talk) 16:10, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. Please add something. Rwood128 (talk) 17:14, 29 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
What? So I watch someone knee-jerk revert me? Not likely; I've had more than enough of that with other articles. Let someone else have that aggravation for a change. The Grand Rascal (talk) 05:32, 30 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
