List of Overlord episodesOverlord (TV series) – Similar to Attack on Titan (TV series), naming conventions would be used unless it’s split off. 184.146.38.122 (talk) 07:23, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Strong Oppose per MOS:A&M and the decisions made on other articles. Please stop spamming this request. Link20XX (talk) 14:33, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - Like many other similar articles, the content has grown beyond a simple list of episodes to now include production details, broadcast history, etc. such that this is properly presented as a TV series overview. The rename will encourage additional formatting changes and broaden the scope to allow more information to be included. Also, the raw list of episodes is largely redundant with the season 1, season 2, etc. articles, so its value of a standalone list is less. -- Netoholic @ 16:20, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
    • Including basic information on broadcasting is common-place for these list articles. The "list of episodes" articles when there are also seasonal articles for series serve as a sort of overview, which this article does. Link20XX (talk) 16:41, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
      • Then I suspect there are more "lists" which would be better handled as TV series overviews. Having this page only exist as "a sort of overview" that is redundant with the episode lists in the season articles is unnecessary. In fact, the existence of separate season articles is strong evidence that a TV series overview is very necessary and overdue. Using the Attack on Titan (TV series) example, making this a TV series article gives more room for expansion. -- Netoholic @ 16:51, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
        • Room for expansion is pointless if there is nothing to fill it, which is the main reason most articles are like this. Finding production information for anime adaptations specifically is rare and the language barrier only makes it harder. The instances where the proper information exists (take Rurouni Kenshin (TV series) as an example) are split. The decision most anime editors have made (myself included) is we would rather not split the TV series and keep it with the main article than have a stub of the TV series (WP:NOPAGE). This decision was also backed up by this RfC, which a lot of WP:TELEVISION participants happen to be ignoring. Link20XX (talk) 18:35, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
          • By citing NOPAGE... are you claiming that an overview of the TV series is not notable... but a list of its episodes is? That's a strange argument to make. In this (and other) cases, there is plenty of material to form a TV series overview article. That RfC was not closed in support of what you're implying. Stop citing it as a hammer. And overall, stop WP:BLUDGEONing in general. You're extremely repetitive. -- Netoholic @ 19:14, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
            • You are right about me, and I apologize for my previous actions of bludgeoning and losing my cool. However, like I have said before, I don't believe that this article and series has enough content to warrant making an overall TV series that would not be a stub or very repetitive article. If someone can find some good information, I wouldn't be opposed to this proposal. Link20XX (talk) 19:40, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose: This article is a list episode and an extension of the original article. This list itself is not sufficient enough to stand as its own main article if it was renamed to "TV series" and I'm afraid that by doing so, it's at risk of being merged to the original article (making it too long). This issue has been brought up twice in the past and I remember WP:TV's side was overruled when it was brought up to ANI. lullabying (talk) 20:21, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose. If someone wants this page to be renamed Overlord (TV series), then it should be structured as an article instead of as a list of episodes. If there's more notable info available than what's now at Overlord (novel series)#Anime, the best approach may be to start a Draft:Overlord (TV series) (or just do it directly in mainspace), perhaps following the structure of the cited example Attack on Titan (TV series). This list should stay as it is, just as List of Attack on Titan episodes still exists even when there's an article on the series. —El Millo (talk) 22:06, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per WP:NCTV and MOS:TV article structure. Since there is no article for the TV series, this article is that article and should be titled as such. As has been pointed out, the article already contains other non-episode list details so its already not a simple list (and even if there would have been an article, there is no reason to split yet anyways). --Gonnym (talk) 00:00, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Why is it that the parent content has to be an article, beyond the "statutory" requirement? Why can't a section, namely Overlord (novel series)#Anime, serve as the parent/anchor for the list of episodes? If the only reason is "the MOS says so", that is insufficiently compelling. — Goszei (talk) 00:51, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Because having an article be an amalgamation of a lot of different things is a horrible design philosophy, one which thankfully, isn't shared by a lot of other topics on Wikipedia. When is something like that good? In an overview style article, such as a franchise article, where the sub-sections summarize the information and link to the articles of those sections which have more detailed information. Is an article disambiguated with "novel series" such an article? Obviously not, and in this specific situation nor is the content of that article built around an overview. This means that when a reader wants to search for the TV series article, they land on a completely different and unwanted page and needs to navigate to a secondary page just to continue reading. There is a reason why WP:SPLIT exists to explain when such thing is needed. Gonnym (talk) 12:18, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong oppose per my comments on this previous shitshow here over the exact same issue. See also consensus at village pump here that anime MOS is not subordinate to television MOS. Satellizer el Bridget (Talk) 05:13, 16 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
