The result of the move request was: No consensus to move. No consensus that the proposed title is the WP:COMMONNAME. Andrewa has suggested the proposed move should be done by default as a return to the status quo following an unexplained move in 2016. The article's history is a bit difficult to interpret (it seems there may have been one or more history merges or copy-paste moves), but as far as I can tell, the current title has been the stable one for most of this article's history. National Institute of Technology, Puducherry → National Institute of Technology Puducherry – Because the official name of the institute is National Institute of Technology Puducherry and not National Institute of Technology, Puducherry according the official webistite of the institute [1] and also in nirf rankings by MHRD, Govt. of India [2].

- Oppose: Articles are named based on common names based on independent reliable sources, not official names. A simple search on Google News and Google Books seems to indicate the current name is slightly more common. ~ Aseleste (t, e | c, l) 11:30, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- Support for a rather bizarre reason. I note this reverses a previous move with no rational whatsoever

but I don't think it matters at all which title we use, if the other is there as a redirect. So while I think WP:AT probably supports the present title, and the official name as it appears in primary sources is irrelevant, the easiest and quickest way to settle this and all get back to doing something useful is just to move it back.
