|find2= is kind of broken edit

The |find2= parameter should be usable on its own. E.g., this should work, to do two separate quoted search terms:

{{Expand section|date=July 2023|find2="New Zealand" "Tartan Day"}}

But it just fails because |find= is empty/missing.

The desired result can ultimately be bruce-forced by doing something like:

{{Expand section|date=July 2023|find=New Zealand|find2="Tartan Day"}}

but only a super-geek will figure that out.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  05:32, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Lol, true; and I agree, it should. Historically, it stemmed from an old find-sources precursor (forget what it was; had the term multi in the name) that had four terms, and realized that really what it had was one automatically quoted term (term 1) and three unquoted terms (2, 3, and 4) so the 3rd and 4th were redundant, leaving "quoted search" and "unquoted search", but it probably never handled your case properly, and this kind of inherited that. But it should handle it, and that should be on the docket. Ditto for these 14 templates. Thanks for noting this. Mathglot (talk) 07:57, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
