One writes neither for the true proletarian, occupied else-where, and very well occupied, nor for the true bourgeois starved of goods, and who have not the ears. One writes for the disadjusted, neither proletarian nor bourgeois; that is to say, for one’s friends, and less for the friends one has than for the innumerable unknown people who have the same life as us, who roughly and crudely understand the same things, are able to accept or must refuse the same, and who are in the same state of powerlessness and official silence. — Dionys Mascolo
Ursula K. Le Guin's book The Dispossessed nicely outlines some points that can be applied to this project.
I don't love my username but I have tentatively accepted I am stuck with it.
In addition to work on Wikipedia proper, I add photos to Wikimedia. If you need a photo of something in New York City, let me know on my talk page and I can go take one.

N.B.: The first table below contains articles I started, substantially expanded, or to which I added other meaningful contributions (such as sourcing unsourced articles, in the last two groups). In some cases, the current article no longer resembles what I wrote, for better or for worse. The table also contains red links. These links constitute a sort of to-do list and are articles I intend to write someday. Blue links after the red links are redirects I've created.

Notes on My Editing and Edits
* I don't typically include sources in the lede/lead.
* Edit summaries should be funny, sometimes.
