This domain name, which was owned by Bomis, the original owners of Wikipedia, made Wikipedia's first edit. See Wikipedia's oldest articles. It also created all of Wikipedia's first 10 pages, see the list of Wikipedia's first 100 pages.

As UseModWiki, the software in use at the time, treated domain names much like IP addresses, this was not a true "account" but rather the display name for those who edited from the office.bomis.com server without using a screen name, including such people as Jimmy Wales, Tim Shell, and Larry Sanger.

The last edits from the office.bomis.com server were made in March 2001; as a domain name, this username may not comply with Wikipedia's modern username policy.

Most edits under this username and similar names (see below) are not accessible using Special:Contributions due to T2323 (formerly bug 323), because they appear in the Wikipedia database with a lower-case letter. Those that are visible were imported after the major import of UseModWiki edits in September 2002. Lists of such edits hidden from the contributions page that have survived in the Wikipedia database can be found at User:Nemo bis/Bug 323 revisions. All of the edits recorded under this domain name can be found in the 2001 Wikipedia database dumps. The "office.bomis.com" username was created in the modern database in 2009 to prevent impersonation; its current iteration has no connection with Bomis or any of its former employees.
