I'm about to perform a major cleanup / copy edit there, so could you please specify which sections have issues, so I can work on them?

Talk:Rivendell/GA1 edit

Ardenter, I've rewritten the lead section, cut down the history radically, and added more scholarly out-of-universe analysis. I believe this should meet all your review comments, and would be glad of your reply. I'm used to working with GA reviewers to bring articles up to standard, and will be happy to deal with any further concerns you may have. All the best (and Happy Easter), Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:18, 3 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ardenter, could you let me know how we can proceed on this? I've done as you asked. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 10:51, 13 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for May 13 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tyrion Lannister, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kinslayer. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:05, 13 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

June 2021 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show controversy. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 19:30, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I do not see how my edits were disruptive. I removed a paragraph from the lede because of two reasons: 1. SYNTH. The paragraph said there was a contradiction between two comments. No reliable source was cited to support this. it was a clear case of SYNTH. 2. Notability. The paragraph was from the lede. How was something about a contradiction between some musicians claims about the incident important enough for the lede? Can you please explain how I was disruptive? Ardenter (talk) 19:40, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Here's what I saw: The name "Britney Spears" is hanging out in space, unconnected to any sentence or context. The channelguidemag.com reference is chopped off at the end, breaking the template. The edit you made looks like vandalism, except that you are an established editor, and you supplied a coherent edit summary. But your edit summary mentions a typo, which wasn't there at all. Your edit summary also mentions WP:SYNTH, which wasn't there at all, as the Yahoo News cite fully supports the sentence. The only point you made that was supportable was that the opinion of hair stylist Lukas might not be appropriate for the lead section. Binksternet (talk) 20:15, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I apologize for the page errors. I made the edit quickly on my phone.
The SYNTH policy reads: "If one reliable source says A, and another reliable source says B, do not join A and B together to imply a conclusion C that is not mentioned by either of the sources. This would be improper editorial synthesis of published material to imply a new conclusion, which is original research performed by an editor here."
The sentence in question is: "In April 2021, celebrity stylist Wayne Scot Lukas claimed that it was preplanned by Timberlake who sought to upstage his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears' MTV Video Music Awards appearance at which she kissed Madonna. However this contradicts his previous statement from 2015 stating he was not aware of what happened with Timberlake."
Neither source noted the contradiction. Therefore, I believe it to be SYNTH. Ardenter (talk) 20:37, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tagging pages for deletion edit

Hello,

I was looking at Al-Nahar (Egyptian newspaper) and noticed that you didn't inform the page creator that you tagged their article for deletion. Any time you tag a page for any type of deletion (CSD, PROD, AFD/CFD/TFD/etc.), you need to post a notice on the talk page of the page creator so they are aware of what is going on. Otherwise, they might not ever know that the page they created was deleted or why it was deleted.

I recommending using Twinkle and setting up your Preferences to "Notify page creator", then the program will post these notifications for you any time you tag a page for deletion which makes things very easy. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:32, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'll configure my Twinkle. Thanks! Ardenter (talk) 21:37, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

You've been unsubscribed from the Feedback Request Service edit

Hi Ardenter! You're receiving this notification because you were previously subscribed to the Feedback Request Service, but you haven't made any edits to the English Wikipedia in over six months.

In order to declutter the Feedback Request Service list, and to produce a greater chance of active users being randomly selected to receive invitations to contribute, you've been unsubscribed, along with all other users who have made no edits in six months.

You do not need to do anything about this - if you are happy to not receive Feedback Request Service messages, thank you very much for your contributions in the past, and this will be the last you hear from the service. If, however, you would like to resubscribe yourself, you can follow the below instructions to do so:

  1. Go to the Feedback Request Service page.
  2. Decide which categories are of interest to you, under the RfC and/or GA headings.
  3. Paste {{Frs user|Ardenter|limit}} underneath the relevant heading(s), where limit is the maximum number of requests you wish to receive for that category per month.
  4. Publish the page.

If you've just come back after a wikibreak and are seeing this message, welcome back! You can follow the above instructions to re-activate your subscription. Likewise, if this is an alternate account, please consider subscribing your main account in much the same way.

Note that if you had a rename and left your old name subscribed to the FRS, you may be receiving this message on your new username's talk page still. If so, make sure your new account name is subscribed to the FRS, using the same procedure mentioned above.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask on the Feedback Request Service talk page, or on the Feedback Request Service bot's operator's talk page. Thank you!
