.hack//G.U. edit

Nice work making this conomination duo. The two .hack gaming series is GA. I have no knowledge of Link so I doubt I can help there. Also, if you are interested Kite and Haseo's articles have just been copyedited if you are interested in working on them. Also, I've just rememberd a Hack GU image of the 8 main characters unlocked after beating Redemption in case it might fit better. Anyway, nice work.Tintor2 (talk) 21:47, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Good work yourself! I'll take a gander at the character articles when I have a chance but I'm not able to put too much work into them right now. They're looking very solid already though. Axem Titanium (talk) 21:50, 6 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject Video games Newsletter survey edit

Hello Axem! I'm conducting a feature for the video games newsletter similar to that of a survey. I'm going to ask users their opinions on a specific matter and highlight unique and common answers to determine consensus on a subject. Your input would be very valuable, alongside others, to help answer this question.

The question is: How do you determine what makes a video game character notable enough for their own page? Do you follow pre-existing guidelines or have your own opinions on the matter?

WP:BLP issues on Quinton Flynn edit

Please refer to the discussion here regarding Flynn. In the meantime, do not re-add the material without better sourcing. Siliconera makes no mention of the allegations, and you're going to have an uphill battle convincing anyone that "Wowhead" meets our WP:RS criteria. OhNoitsJamie Talk 02:20, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure why you say that. Wowhead has been a trusted source for World of Warcraft news for over a decade. Axem Titanium (talk) 03:38, 21 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I'm planning to nominate Judgment (video game) once it is copyedited but I don't know if it needs other type of fixes or info since I barely work in such big articles. Could you give it a look? Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 18:41, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi Tintor. I'd be happy to take a look and give feedback, though I'll skip the plot section since I haven't played it. I'll try to get to it today or tomorrow. Axem Titanium (talk) 19:18, 12 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject Video games Newsletter survey edit

I'm conducting another survey for the Wikiproject Video games Newsletter. If you could leave your thoughts on the matter it would be greatly appreciated. Every response will be compiled into a MOS-Esque answer that balances the thoughts of our top contributors. You're one of them! The question is as follows:

What would you consider the requirements of making a video game series article? What about franchise articles?

If you would like to respond, please ping me here and write your reply. I'll handle the rest. Thanks in advance, Panini!🥪 14:48, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:Panini!: I don't treat "series" and "franchise" articles differently from each other. Primarily I look for coverage of the series as a series rather than a collection of individual titles. Development info is a must and influence/legacy goes a long way to convincing me a series page is warranted. I don't have a particular minimum cutoff for number of entries but it's certainly greater than two. Axem Titanium (talk) 23:54, 15 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

If this becomes GA, and the next article isn’t released yet, would that make a Final Fantasy XIV good topic? Judgesurreal777 (talk) 16:04, 24 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Maintaining the FFXIV articles takes a lot of time and I don't know that I'd be able to get Endwalker to GA in a reasonable timeframe to prevent a good topic from relapsing. Reverted edits edit

You reverted my edits on a redirect (River City, Iowa) because I added a category to it and usually redirects do not have categories. However this is not true as I found plenty of people who are redirects in categories of births by year. how come? 26zhangi (talk) 17:22, 27 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

@User:26zhangi The purpose of categories is to aid in navigation between articles. Redirects, not being articles, do not generally need categories because they are not covered in detail in the target article. (See WP:RCAT for more detail on this editing guideline and WP:CAT for a more general look.) There is a small (unreferenced) section in The Music Man about River City but it's not the main focus of the article and Category:Fictional cities and towns in Iowa is too small and specific to have enough members to warrant its existence (see WP:SMALLCAT). This gets to the point of categorization on Wikipedia. What is the purpose of categorization? It's to aid in navigating between articles and to describe defining characteristics of article subjects. If there are few or no other members of a category, it doesn't accomplish either of these goals. Does that make sense? Axem Titanium (talk) 17:52, 27 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Steve Gaynor edit

HI. Just a heads up that I removed the CSD tag from Steve Gaynor as I think it is quite well sourced. For example, there is this in-depth profile. A couple new sources, published since the date of last AfD, have also been added. Thanks. --- Possibly 06:44, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@User:Possibly: I'm not sure he passes WP:NPOL. His claim to "fame" is that he *lost* a SecState election in Arizona and that he announced a governor run? He's not even a politician yet, by that measure, so he'd have to pass GNG as a businessperson, which the article does not cover at all. A lot of the sources read like routine background coverage of political candidates. Running for election does not make one inherently notable. Axem Titanium (talk) 18:37, 5 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

@ExplorerX19: "Plot" and "Story" are largely synonymous in common parlance, even according to the wikipedia article you linked. Toning down articles edit

I've been trying tone down the repetitive reception sections of Squall Leonhart and Tidus while expanding on the creation to avoid a similar reassessment that Tifa had. I think the reception sections covers most of the two character's better know aspects by the media. Still, I couldn't find too much about Squall's Kingdom Hearts design (which is kinda obvious when comparing it to Amano's artwork) even though it is used a lot not only there but also Dissidia. Feel free to give it a look. I asked Protodrake about the Japanese actor who voiced Squall but he also couldn't find anything about it. Cheers. Tintor2 (talk) 22:51, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll give them a look when I have some time over the next few days. Axem Titanium (talk) 23:17, 20 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

By the way, if you find any source for at least expanding an analysis section add it to further reading. It helped a lot to balance Cloud's article (and I added some free images related to the subject). I also added a Roman king too to Noctis' article based on Tabata's commentary and the reception.Tintor2 (talk) 22:53, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reminder. Been pretty busy these few weeks so I'm not sure when I'll get to them. 🤞 Axem Titanium (talk) 23:43, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

G-Witch casting edit

If you look at articles from other sources or videos from popular anime tubers about this issue, you can easily see screenshots of several VAs directly referring to their interpretation of the character as a "Middle Eastern queer character" with a hint that they had to choose the right actress for the sake of "unique and rare representations". It's not essential, but it was clearly one of the complaints about diversity in casting. Also, I added "it seems", because apart from the Semitic name and dark skin color (and only the father, her mother clearly has European or Japanese roots), the ethnicity of the character is not actually discussed anywhere, and she can just as well be just tanned. Of course, only if you are not going to deny that Arabs or Jews are white. And again, this is all without regard to whether ethnic roots still play any role in the world of G-Witch, given the clearly fictitious names and fantastic setting. Solaire the knight (talk) 03:20, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

I removed it because it failed verification in the source, nothing more. "Seems to be implied" is a bit redundant in English and doesn't necessarily flow well. "Seems" and "implied" have overlapping meanings. Better to pick one or the other. Axem Titanium (talk) 06:41, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is it? In my language, "implies" refers to something that subtly refers to something, so I used to be unhappy when "implies" was stated without "it seems". Anyway, I added this because in the sources I wrote about it, several VAs referred to the rarity of such a representation. But since the specified source does not make any emphasis on this, it really does not matter. I'm not going to fight an edit war for a small piece of text that doesn't affect the overall text, so I've only returned "it seems" as still important to me. So, in English, "means" still has the character of uncertainty? Solaire the knight (talk) 07:14, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Both "seem" and "imply" connote uncertainty. "Imply" has the added connotation of intentionality (e.g. the author intended this implication, but did not want to outright state it) whereas "seem" does not necessarily connote intention. "Seems to be implied" is technically grammatical but it's wordy and most copyediters would try to shorten the phrase to be more concise. Axem Titanium (talk) 08:30, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is what I was trying to avoid, because people often use "implied" as a loophole to lend weight to their speculations (along with "hinted"), and dark skin combined with a Semitic name doesn't tell you anything about the intentions of the authors, especially in a universe where the future have mixed people's population. Moreover, as far as I remember, in a promotional interview, the producers directly drew attention to the idea of ethnic diversity in their ideas for the future of the show. In general, you want to say that implied is ambiguous, but still implies an indication of some kind of intention? Solaire the knight (talk) 11:50, 5 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
"In general, you want to say that implied is ambiguous, but still implies an indication of some kind of intention?" Yes that's the way I understand the nuance of that word. Someone implied something with an intention. Axem Titanium (talk) 19:24, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Then how do you view the idea of rewriting this in the context of "it's likely/plausible, but it's not explicitly stated anywhere"? I doubt that Suletta is just tanned (I do not know the practice, but I heard that in the USA the ethnicity of children of mixed marriages is determined by a non-white parent), but it seems to me that the definition of ethnicity by name and skin color is still speculative. Solaire the knight (talk) 21:36, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
In the absence of additional sources that more explicitly address it, I don't know how much more can be written on the topic. From the evidence, I think it's pretty clear that Suletta's heritage is MENA but my evaluation isn't the one that matters. Obviously it's not an accident that she looks the way she looks (i.e. someone made her look that way on purpose), but we can't say any more for sure. I think "implied" is the right level of vagueness to use in the article for now. Axem Titanium (talk) 21:59, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
If you go to the sources, all I saw in the interview in relation to her ethnic origin is the words of the producer that "this is the future, so we decided to give Suletta a darker skin color, assuming that in the future all the peoples mixed up and we wanted to display it's diversity." Not literally, of course, but close to it. Personally, I would assume that her roots probably refer to Pakistanis or Indians as typical non-Japanese migrants (such characters are quite popular in Japanese media these days, remember "Do it Yourself"), but that would also be speculation. All I can say is that she is probably a child of mixed marriage given her mother. Solaire the knight (talk) 22:32, 6 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
As I said, anonymous is indeed motivated by a political conflict of interest. For example, he directly sees the presence of this text in the article as a "political attack". It's funny that he directly wrote about this right after another user tried to convince me that the anonymous person was not discussing the case itself, instead of the validity of adding it to the article. Anonymous even supported him, but still did not realize that the next comment proves my case and refutes his defender. Solaire the knight (talk) 06:10, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is no need to engage with people whose arguments lack substance. The lack of substance will be self-evident to the closer of the discussion. Axem Titanium (talk) 07:50, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Kefka edit

I added a list of invisible sources to the Reception section of Kefka. I don't really feel like expanding it, just copyediting and restructuring, so feel free to implement them if you like. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 15:28, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks! Axem Titanium (talk) 15:30, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I know you mentioned you had some sources for the articles but were busy, would you be able to add them to the ref ideas template on the talk page? I can work on them after I get Wooloo to GA.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 21:54, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Kung Fu Man: Sorry, I've been out of town this week and just catching up on messages. I can't seem to find all of them at the moment, but I still have [1] and [2] open in a browser tab so those must have been among them 😅. I think I'll have some time to locate them and work on the article tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for your help in the meantime! Axem Titanium (talk) 02:20, 11 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Always precious edit

Ten years ago, you were found precious. That's what you are, always. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:59, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! edit

Thank you for your advice on organizing the Legend of Zelda characters page. I went and organized the characters by their games, and it looks a lot better. I'm sure there is still things that can be done to make it look better, but this is a great first start. Thank you again! HylianNerd (talk) 12:49, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

No problem, welcome to editing! I'll poke around and see what I can help with when I get a chance. Axem Titanium (talk) 16:25, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
One quick thing I would note is that using detailed edit summaries will help others see what your intentions are. For example, you said "Fixed the page" but didn't specify what you did (and accidentally removed a section, which was an honest mistake). For potentially controversial changes, you can also wikilink directly to the discussion about the change, especially in this case since it didn't happen on the article's talk page.
