Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks! edit

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.

Thank you!

DCFC season edit

Hey man! For the 2019-20 DCFC article, what do you think about removing the brackets from links to players who don't have a page. So instead of Santiago Burtone it could just be Santiago Burtone. I don't know, not a fan of the red links. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 01:00, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think that makes sense. I am sort of conflicted though since the status of NISA is up in the air - and when/if it gets recognized those players will be entitled to a page. So should they be red so once a page is made they link automatically? ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 01:05, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
Even then my general rule is that the pages should be unlinked (so like say, a youth player who is in the squad but has not played a game yet). But I get the reason for keeping it that way for now. Generally, the reason I say to keep it unlinked is so others don't create the articles when the players are not notable. I am fine keeping it the way it is either way. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 01:44, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

NISA Team Count edit

I think it is best to leave it at "8" until we get the 2020 Fall schedule, then we can change it. My guess is it'll read "9 playing; 10 announced" or something like that. Stumptown is probably out; Cosmos, N'Amsterdam, Teamsters in. Pirmas697 (talk) 15:07, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yeah agreed, probably best to wait for the Fall schedule to confirm Stumptown being out. I more meant with the Independent Cup I wasn't sure if that officially adds the Cosmos or New Amsterdam.
It's a preseason thing so I'd say "no". Pirmas697 (talk) 21:45, 4 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Missed Pens edit

Good morning. This is a pretty minor thing, but I wanted to circle back with you first, I don't think the missed penalty thing is for penalties missed in live play, just for penalties missed for the purposes of deciding a tied game or series. Pirmas697 (talk) 15:24, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hey! I'm honestly not sure but I think I saw it on a league season page somewhere and I got an OCD urge to just put it in. Just checked and the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs doesn't have it for the saved PK in OCSC vs NER, nor is it on an MLS season page. So I'm fine with that. Can I ask a favor though? If we do remove them, please don't just revert on each season page since at times I also added in missing match reports or other things. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 16:46, 2 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

I was only able to find one non NISA-associated blog source for any news on Flower City, and it was old enough that they hadn't announced anything other than the application to NISA. Do you have anything? Pirmas697 (talk) 23:42, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Pirmas697: What was the blog if I may ask? And I assume you're trying to avoid local coverage right? ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 23:48, 28 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@ColeTrain4EVER: I'm avoiding Protagonist Soccer, First Team Pod, Frontrow Soccer, and anything like Newsbreak that basically turn "news" out of tweets. Local coverage is fine, but it must be independent media, e.g. the local Fox Sports affiliate or the major news papers (e.g. the Tribune for Chicago, The Freep for Detroit). I found an article on Rochester First that appear impartial and has coverage of the acceptance back in November 2020. I used it as the citation for the 2022 start of play on the chart on the main NISA article. [1] Pirmas697 (talk) 00:02, 29 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Pirmas697: Well that Tribune article with Night Train mentions FCU in passing. I think you're right for avoiding those websites, but Front Row Soccer is still written by an established media member (Michael Lewis) who has written for U.S. Soccer on multiple occasions so he might still be worth a cite. Besides that I only found this: 1. One of the owners was interviewed on "United States of Soccer" on Sirius though. If that's archived anywhere that might be a source. Hey, can you change AC Syracuse Pulse logo because this team has unofficially announced that they changed their team's logo (see AC Syracuse Pulse's social media like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram). TheBlackKnights1100 (talk) 12:52, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@TheBlackKnights1100: Ahh you're right. Let me try to find a good version of the new logo. If I can't someone else will have to do it. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 16:34, 2 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Georgia Storm FC edit

@ColeTrain4EVER:, Thanks a ton for the help on the Georgia Storm FC page. User:kevinw33 18 January 2022 (UTC)

@Kevinw33: No problem! I saw it mentioned on WP:FPL and was happy to clarify the UPSL/NPSL records. Might be able to fix it a little more in the near future. Here's hoping the team continues to improve in the NPSL. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 14:35, 19 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

2023 NPSL Season edit

Hello ColeTrain4EVER. This is User:Logan Z Man 2022!. I was wondering if you could help me create the 2023 NPSL Season Page. I saw you made the 2022 page and was wondering if you could help me. If not, I understand. Please respond as soon as possible. Sincerely,

User:Logan Z Man 2022! Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 15:16, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello @Logan Z Man 2022!:, yes I can help. Honestly I was going to wait for the playoffs but I don't mind starting now. It shouldn't be too hard, just time consuming. How and where would you like the help? ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:53, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Making the Standings for the league. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 15:54, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Ok. I can do that in my Sandbox. Give me a little bit. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:55, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks cause I was thinking about with those standings updating them every day with the scores. Thanks for the help man. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 15:57, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
No problem, how about you go through the teams list and start doing the Incoming, Departed, and Hiatus teams section? That involves a little digging. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:58, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I got started with the teams incoming departing and hiatus sections. I didn't put much on the departing but I'll work on it seeing as I'm heading to work. Take a look. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 16:44, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Good start, I just added the tables I have done. Will continue to work on the rest. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 17:01, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm caught in a bit of a pickle in regards to the departed teams. I think I have most of them down, but I found there were 94 teams not 89. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 19:00, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Who said there was 89? ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 04:15, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's what the expansion said on the main page. I made a correction. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 04:16, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
yeah honestly who knows when that was added. I think I corrected that a few years back because the numbers were all wrong compared to what was on the season pages. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 04:26, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
I figured. Also how do we explain the Crossfire red and white teams? Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 04:28, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Let me think on that lol ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 04:30, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Not to mention Global Soccer Pathways, I can't find anything on that team. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 04:42, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Check out what I did for Crossfire and tell me what you think. Also with GSP, here's the weird thing. On the NPSL teams page if you click them their URL says Naples United. But then click on Naples United's url and you'll see the coaching staffs for both teams are the same. Very weird. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 14:46, 21 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey can you update the tables to the last two days I'm about to head to work and won't be able to have time until later to do it. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 20:59, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Nah I don't want to get into a habit of doing that each time. I'm just gonna wait till the regular season ends and then update anything that isn't up-to-date. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 21:19, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey @Logan Z Man 2022!, why'd you remove my Gallos FC note in the Lone Star standings? Also, the NPSL hasn't released playoff info... so you shouldn't be putting that yet. (EDIT: Nevermind the other guys removed the Gallos note) ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 23:39, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I had someone help out the work with updating the standings and I had to pretty much fix up their mess. 96.95.111.213 (talk) 23:40, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh my god it's super messed up. lol Like why did they mess with the tables I already made? This sucks. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 23:44, 27 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey @Logan Z Man 2022! I tried to fix it as best I can. How does it look? ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 00:24, 28 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
It looks good and I think the Golden Gate Conference got their playoff draw set. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 16:40, 29 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey. The Golden Gate Conference just gave out information on their playoffs. want to start the playoff section of the page? Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 15:12, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I can start it later today. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:55, 30 June 2023 (UTC) ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:55, 30 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
It looks like the other conferences have their playoffs set. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 18:39, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well, a couple conferences that is. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 18:41, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
I'm not so sure. Nothing new is scheduled on the league page. Plus if you look at the playoff page for each region nothing outside of the west is a complete picture. Still a few lower seeds to be determined. And I think a few more can swap between second and third. If you really want though I can add brackets now. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 19:37, 3 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Should we add the remaining playoff brackets now? only the lone star division has a remaining playoff spot. Logan Z Man 2022! (talk) 14:53, 9 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yeah we should. I have to write a New York Red Bulls recap article today, then I'll get on it. You can start it and I clean up if you don't want to wait. BTW, Cal Odyssey forfeit vs FC Arizona. So make sure that's marked to show that if you go ahead. ColeTrain4EVER (talk) 15:15, 9 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
