Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem edit

Hello Dashaya,

I did not mean to insult or disrespect any of the article's editors, but I am just a new editor on Wikipedia and I never used the talk page and no one ever got mad about it. Regarding the name of the article, I actually wrote the name that is written on the official logo of the Patriarchate on their official website, so no it is not a translation mistake, and if so, then it is the official name, you cannot change it, even if it is an archdiocese. I would like to add that I changed the name because I myself created an article on the patriarchate last April and it got removed and I found this one out, so I thought of merging both under the official name the church calls itself which is: Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem. If you have any other comments on my edits, please let me know, we are doing this to share information and it is for the larger benefit that we discuss it.

I agree with you that the church in Jerusalem uses the name Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem. However, they are not a Patriarchate since a Patriarchate is a church organization headed by a Patriarch. I believe that we should add the name Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem to the first sentence of the article as a common name of the Archdiocese, however, I do not believe we should move the article to a page with that name. With that said, since the article was moved before, a redirect page was automatically generated that connects the page Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, to the article. This means that if you google search "Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem", you will get a link to a wikipedia page titled "Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem", which will automatically redirect you to the article. Finally it would be great if you left the latinized names alone. Similar pages concerning primates of the Coptic church, such as the List of Coptic Orthodox popes of Alexandria uses the latinized/English names. The purpose of this is to maintain order. For example, one Metropolitan was known as Yaqoub (Arabic for James), another was known as Iakobos (Coptic for James). Both Metropolitans had the same name and thus should be counted as I and II. To make this clearer for non arabic, and non coptic speakers, the names should be both written as James. Similarly Abraham and Abraam are both in fact the same name, one being in Syriac, and the other in Coptic (look at pope Abraham/Abraam bin Zara). The article is aimed at English speakers, so let's make it easy for them to understand. Dashaya (talk) 14:50, 20 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Coptic Orthodox Church in Europe edit

Hi David,

regarding your Map of the Coptic Orthodox Dioceses of Europe (Coptic_Orthodox_Dioceses_of_Europe)[1] , Germany has to different Dioceses - North-Germany and St. Mauritius Monastery Brenkhausen (Anba Damian) and South Germany and St. Antiinous Monastery Kroeffelbach (Anba Michael). Is it possible to color the map accordingly - seperate roughly in north and south?

Hi Mamitry. I wasn't aware of that. Sure I will update as soon as possible. Dashaya (talk) 02:20, 23 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi David, thank you for taking this up. I guess these here will help:
* Coptic Orthodox Congregations in South Germany Diocese (1a)
* Coptic Orthodox Congregations in North Germany Diocese (1b)
* Maps of the Congregations in South Germany Diocese (1c)

Ways to improve James II (Coptic archbishop of Jerusalem) edit

Hello, Dashaya,

Thank you for creating James II (Coptic archbishop of Jerusalem).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Saying Holy and Great City of Our Lord, Jerusalem (Holy Zion), and Archbishop of the Holy and Ancient Archdiocese of Jerusalem, all Palestine and the Near East is unacceptable for a lead in a Wikipedia article, Kindly do the needful and this particular communion.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

@Whiteguru: Hey Whiteguru! The first line is not a description, that is the official title of the subject based on the organization that he was heading. You can verify that from the article of the organization Coptic Orthodox Archdiocese of Jerusalem as well as the entry for the encumbant Coptic Metropolitan of Jerusalem on the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church page.

Antonius, Most Senior and Elder Metropolitan Archbishop of the Holy and Great City of Our Lord, Jerusalem (Holy Zion); Archbishop of the Holy and Ancient Archdiocese of Jerusalem, all Palestine and the Near East

The same heading was also used in the other articles for other persons who have held this position, examples: Basil IV (Coptic archbishop of Jerusalem) and Antonius (Coptic archbishop of Jerusalem). I would like to clarify that I am not trying to be biased, I am just stating the official title and name of the organization. With this context in mind, please let me know if you would still prefer that I change the lead in.

A barnstar for you! edit

  The Writer's Barnstar
Thank you for creating the page for H.E. Anba Bachomious! And doing so in a thorough way as well. I was lucky enough to meet him when he came to the US in 2013, which turned out to be his last visit. We are lucky he is still alive and serving. He is a huge blessing. — That Coptic Guy (talk) 02:53, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Calendar articles edit

Hi I see you’ve created a series of articles about the Coptic calendar. These seem to rely in a single source which doesn’t look completely reliable to me. Please would you slow down and find multiple reliable sources for each article? If you carry on producing more and more single-sourced articles there is a good chance they will all be moved to draft as they won’t meet the required standard for mainspace articles. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 03:49, 1 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

I will go through and add additional sources. Thank you.

Hi Dashaya. Thanks for your contributions. Just to let you know, I've assigned you autopatrolled temporarily, for one month, while you finish your calendar project. This doesn't affect your editing, it just means that pages you create won't be reviewed by new pages patrol. Please let me know if you are not finished after a month. Happy editing, – Joe (talk) 09:36, 2 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you @Joe Roe
