Nice work on DYK edit

Hey! Nice work on the DYK article today. I was looking through your contributions and you've created so many articles on great topics. I just wanted to say that I think you do wonderful work! :) Ganesha811 (talk) 15:32, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey Ganesha811, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm just happy to do my part and spread the knowledge around, while giving people the recognition they deserve. I really appreciate this. Droodkin (talk) 15:38, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
While we're there - can you check or correct the image description in the article and in https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Habiba_Alsafar_for_UAE_Gov.jpg? It's from this YouTube video, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89dFR8rFyXc, and Arabic is all Greek to me so to speak, so I just decided to label it a government promotional video. If your Arabic is better than that, could you double-check or correct? Thank you! --GRuban (talk) 21:15, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hey GRuban, good catch with the screen-cap. I'm more than happy to help. It looks like you were right the first time, it is a promotional video published by the UAE government's official YouTube page and it's Alsafar explaining her work. So suffice to say, your label is correct. Droodkin (talk) 21:22, 25 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

John Cadbury picture edit

Hello! You uploaded this photograph as a picture of John Cadbury. User:Subratadass has indicated on my talk page that the photo is actually of George Cadbury. Do you have any insight into the matter? The picture certainly looks like George, but there aren't that many pictures of John out there, so it's a little hard to compare. A reverse image search shows that Getty has it marked as George, but it's not inconceivable that they might be wrong. Thoughts? —Emufarmers(T/C) 19:41, 13 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Emufarmers! I tried looking up both Cadburys and they appear to be closely resembling each other or may possible be the same person photographed. I uploaded the current photograph of John Cadbury from a website I cited in the source and assumed it was him but seeing the gettyimage now, I'm not too sure. Perhaps we can put a disclaimer caption in the article, something along the lines of "photo believed to be of John Cadbury"? Interestingly enough, this photo from The Telegraph claims this is what John looks like. It's all rather confusing but thank you for bringing this to my attention. Droodkin (talk) 05:35, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, The Telegraph's picture of George looks different enough (maybe it's just the change in facial hair; I don't know) that I suspect the identification as John may be a mistake. I notice that the rather odd website you took it from has "getty" in the URL for the picture, and Getty does indeed have a picture that's nearly identical, or perhaps the same photo in sepia. I don't really know who to believe! —Emufarmers(T/C) 08:52, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello Emufarmers and Droodkin Droodkin Any update here ? Another link for John Cadbury straight from the Mondelez Website which lists him as one of the founders

http://mondelezinternational.cms.mdlzapps.com/about-us/our-founders

Bahrain Good article status edit

Hi Droodkin, an editor has tagged Talk:Bahrain requesting a GAR. There was no reasoning provided, but looking at the article, there are a few source tags and there appear to be some missing sources. There's a few unsourced paragraphs too. The article is also a hefty 74kB of prose, with many short paragraphs scattered throughout. I haven't initiated a formal GAR, but at a glance the overall the article seems to remain in quite a reasonable shape, so it'd be good if these items could be looked at. Best, CMD (talk) 07:57, 3 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I have initiated a GAR now at Talk:Bahrain/GA2. CMD (talk) 18:23, 20 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hello User:Chipmunkdavis, thank you for your interest in assuring the quality of Wikipedia's good articles. I have also noticed the article's quality somewhat dip over the past few years and think a review is definitely needed. Unfortunately, work life has kept me busy to even leisurely edit but I hope to be able to fix up the article whenever I can. In the meantime, I would be grateful for any and all points brought up during the review. Hopefully they can be rectified in due time. Thanks again. --Droodkin (talk) 10:26, 22 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I think the first priority should be looking at the length, otherwise time might be spent fixing up something that goes later. I'm happy to leave the review open for awhile if you are able to come back in a nearish time-frame. If you find some time, remind me and I can also take a closer look. Invitation to re-join WP:cleanup edit

Hey there! At some point, you signed up at WP:cleanup/Members, and at some later point you were moved to the "Inactive members" section because you hadn't been active on Wikipedia for 6 months or more. I see you've been active recently, so I thought I'd make you aware of this. Feel free to move yourself back to "Active members", maybe freshen up your signature... Perhaps we'll see you around on the main project page, where you can always be of help. Kind regards from PJvanMill)talk( 13:18, 1 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:28, 23 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Naseem International School edit

The article Naseem International School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No significant coverage to meet WP:NSCHOOL.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
