March 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. — Goszei (talk) 02:55, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello Goszei, how do I request a page move? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Elliottharvickfan94 (talkcontribs)

Hope it helps. Love of Corey (talk) 03:25, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Didn't know this earlier, but you need to wait until an ongoing rename discussion is closed first before opening your own. Love of Corey (talk) 04:30, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I didn't know that, I already put it in though. Elliotttharvickfan94 12:52, 24 March 2021 (EST)
Yes, but it's proper procedure to wait first. Your submission screwed with some template codes on the main article from what I heard, due to the other rename discussion still ongoing. Love of Corey (talk) 04:58, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Heart (talk) 05:33, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Oshwah. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Torpenhow Hill—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:40, 25 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Arvada West High School. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Love of Corey (talk) 06:07, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Page moves edit

Hello, Elliottharvickfan94,

All of your page moves have been reverted. Please do not move any more pages as you are clearly too inexperienced as an editor to do this.

If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia, bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 21:18, 7 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thank you because I messed up doing it.Elliottharvickfan94 (talk) 21:32, 7 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
Once again, it is preferable that you request a move at the talk page before you move an article. Sometimes WP:BOLD moves are fine, but you should be sure to exercise caution, because about 90-95 percent of any attempted move will easily be contested. The more you move without any consultation, the less likely a move requested by you will be taken seriously. And I can see from your talk page that you fail to stop and think. Speedy deletion nomination of Austin-East Magnet High School shooting edit

A tag has been placed on Austin-East Magnet High School shooting requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.) that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. –DMartin 21:18, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

2021 sinking of boat off the San Diego coast moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, 2021 sinking of boat off the San Diego coast, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. November 2021 edit

Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits, as you did to Mass killings under communist regimes. Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, please use your sandbox instead, where you are given a certain degree of freedom in what you write. Aquillion (talk) 07:32, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Eastern Europe or the Balkans. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
