March GOCE drive edit

Thanks for participating in the drive, but if you don't know how many words you copyedited, we don't either. WP:GOCE/DRIVE#Word counting script has instructions for lists, which need to be copy-pasted into a word processor to get a word count; you can do this from the permalink (click on the date-time stamp in the page history) before you began the copyedit. DYK for Buchanan's Station edit

On 16 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Buchanan's Station, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a pregnant Sally Buchanan was said to have carried bullets in her apron and distributed whiskey while singing during the Battle of Buchanan's Station? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Buchanan's Station. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Buchanan's Station), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I corrected the coordinates you gave for Buchanan's Station, which pointed over 17 miles away from the site. DYK for Lovely's Purchase edit

On 21 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Lovely's Purchase, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Lower Cherokee edit

How can the Chickamauga towns and the Cherokee lower towns be the same thing, if (according to relevant articles) overhill Cherokee established the former around Chattanooga during the Revolutionary War, and Alexander Cming toured the latter in 1730? 67.180.143.89 (talk) 23:13, 19 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please don't threaten, and remember that if you tell me to "read some Cherokee history" I just might try reading it from the articles that you've worked on. I was interested in the (older) lower towns because I needed a link target to put in the Coker Creek article. The Chickamauga article is not that target; the section in the historic settlements article is. When the same term is used with two different meanings, that patently calls for disambiguation, not a simple redirect. 67.180.143.89 (talk) 00:52, 20 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why did you change my merger proposal so that it now proposes to merge Reversing gear into Johnson Bar (locomotive)? Reversing gear is the general term while "Johnson bar" is a country-specific term for one form of reversing gear. Eldomtom2 (talk) 19:27, 25 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I want to add an image to an article. Am I allowed to upload a screenshot of a video game that I took? --LegoZols (talk) 08:11, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm not an expert on the image dos and don'ts, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to check the copyright rules in that situation. If it is an open source game, you'd probably be OK, but this would be better answered by someone with intimate knowledge of the process that you're trying to initiate. Try asking at the TEAHOUSE. Boston Medical Center edit

Why was the merger closed? I thought the purpose of posting things to proposed merger was to advertise the discussion to encourage discussion in talk much the same way discussion is done in AfD? I thoroughly DISAGEE with the merger into another article that another user did which I believe is content forking. That was done before the discussion had chance to conclude. I don't feel there's been clear consensus as to WHERE to merge Roundhouse Hotel into. Graywalls (talk) 18:31, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Graywalls: He actually created a new article that it fit into. As long as attribution protocols were followed, the issue of the content forking is now moot, as it only exists in that article (unless that text appears in yet another article I am unaware of). If you do not feel the new article has viable, standalone content, then feel free to take it to AfD. Article mergers are for verifiable content merging, not to decide if the article content or article should exist. That's what AfD is for. I closed the discussion because there is no need to waste editors' time on beating a dead horse. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 18:53, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
For future reference, I would like to know how I can get more input on merger discussion in the same way as AfD gets attention. Is there a way to do this? Graywalls (talk) 18:54, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
As long as both articles are tagged with the Merge Request Banners, the only other way is to notify the affected WikiProjects on their Talk Pages about the discussion. ProjectMerge uses a 21-day target, but these sometimes stretch over a year if not listed. The ones with obvious solutions (per MOS) are sometimes quickly acted on—or as time permits—as it was in this case. BTW: Merging is not like AfD on purpose; but, like AfD, sometimes the solutions are different from what was originally proposed. GenQuest "scribble" 19:10, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Cassandra Peterson's page edit

Hi ! I've recently edited Cassandra Peterson's page by removing referenced content. I checked the referenced content but found that even though it comes from her book, it's not exactly true. She claims that the nude photos were only published after becoming Elvira but a part of her career before becoming famous was her being a model and posing nude in adult magazines in the 70's. These 70s magazines are available online and disprove the referenced content. That's why I think it's better to remove the content since it's nonfactual and untrue when it comes to her career's trajectory. Lolamelody123456 (talk) 04:28, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Wouldn't it be better to add the above explanation to her article? Otherwise, it comes across to the reader as whitewashing. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 04:36, 12 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Question from Adaonim (20:05, 15 September 2023) edit

Hello Genquest, i m new to wikipedia, the main reason i created a wikipedia account is to enable me create a wikipedia page for individuals who are interested in having a wiki page display information about them. How do i go about publishing for individuals such as artist or models who whish to be seen on wiki. your reply will be really appreciated. Thank you. --Adaonim (talk) 20:05, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Adaonim. The first of many steps to getting a biographical article written about someone, is the verifiability that they do exist. We do that through reliably sourced articles written about them in third party publications (newspapers, magazines, books, etc.) The second step is they have to be notable on a high enough level, again as found in the reliable publications. These publications (or "sources" as we call them) must then be cited in your article showing the truthfulness of any statements made. Before writing any articles, I would strongly urge you to Lurk around here a bit and see what others are doing, and familiarize yourself with our Manual of Style (tells you how things must be written, kind of our writers' Bible if you will). Try to fix some grammatical errors , punctuation, or formatting to get the hang of the process. Good luck with your experience here learning how to wiki. I'm here to answer questions, or you can write to the TEAHOUSE for answers. That is where many people can read your question(s) and offer guidance. Drambuie Image edit

Hey GenQuest, you reverted the image which I added to the page. I took it myself which is why it doesn't look professional :) I can't argue with your assesmment. Having said this, I wanted to update the image because the current image is out of date and looks like it was submitted by Drambuie themselves. Given this, whats the best way to add an updated image? MaskedSinger (talk) 20:47, 30 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello! @MaskedSinger: Sorry for the late reply. See Talk:Drambuie#Update_to_bottle_shot_image where this is being discussed now. Consider putting your image up on that section of the talk page of that article for comparison. We can get a consensus on what to do quickly, I think. The company guy is on there too. Hey GenQuest, thanks for getting back to me. I totally forgot about this. Like I said, I had no issue with you reverting the image I downloaded. It didn't look professional which I guess is the most important thing. Question from 6Scipion (04:15, 12 October 2023) edit

I submitted the page Advanced Solutions International (ASI) and I received a speedy deletion after many hours of work. I would like to know which parts of it might make the cut. Iwas directed to a button that would let me contest the deletion, but I cannot find it, nor can I find the link that would allow me to preserve the page since parts of it may still be usable. Thanks. --6Scipion (talk) 04:15, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please see NOTABILITY. Also, look at COI. It is best to create a DRAFT article first, and see if it can pass these hurdles with the help of other editors. It is best that you do not work on the article, given your COI. This is very difficult to do with just a short experience editing here. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and requires substantial third-party coverage to justify a stand-alone article for any company. I can tell you how to make a draft article if you wish, but I cannot tell you how to make a company notable. Not everything that exists should have a Wikipedia article. If you can find the notable coverage, let me know. Good luck, GenQuest "scribble" 18:51, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

ResearchGate & Göbekli Tepe edit

Hey, just a friendly reminder that something being hosted on ResearchGate or any other site does not necessarily mean it is the source. What matters is where the material was originally published. Hypnôs (talk) 22:08, 28 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hypnôs: Not true anymore. Researchgate.net is social media and no longer allowed as a reliable source without verification of the original work. (You can do another RfC [discussion] on it, which has been tried unsuccessfully four times in the past--that I know of--but the community has consistently ruled it unusable without the verification.) Editors need to quote the original work, not something posted on researchgate.com. Please revert your revert of my edit. Thanks. GenQuest "scribble" 23:28, 28 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
FYI: From :
…ResearchGate is a social network* that hosts a repository of user-generated publications, including preprints. ResearchGate does not perform fact checking or peer reviewing, and is considered a self-published source. Verify whether a paper on ResearchGate is also published in a peer-reviewed academic journal; in these cases, cite the more reliable journal and provide an open access link to the paper (which may be hosted on ResearchGate)… *emphasis mine
Every one of the sources you removed is "also published in a peer-reviewed academic journal" or other reliable source, the journals/books are cited, and open access links to ResearchGate are permissible. So I'm a bit confused why you removed them anyway. Hypnôs (talk) 00:15, 29 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hey, Hypnôs; Because the citations are linking to researchgate deposits, not the original papers. The "peer-reviewed academic journal or other reliable source" (a permalink or archival citation link to the original document) should be cited, not an unreviewed deposit at researchgate. How are the journals/books verified to the original paper if there are no links to those originals? Are they published? Who knows? If you looked them up to verify them, you have the link or information for those citations already. Why use non-reliable sourcing to verify a statement in an article, especially on an article such as Göbekli Tepe, that probably has hundreds, if not thousands, of other reliable sources available to use?? It's the same thing as citing to Wikipedia or ArVix.
There's plenty of FRINGE and SELF PROMOTION to be found on RG too—there is absolutely no editorial oversight to the "research" found there. There also wouldn't be a restriction entry at the Wikipedia "unreliable sources noticeboard" if what you say is still true. That listing was a community consensus, not mine. See A, B, C, D. My take-away from these discussions, that include comments such as: "...Any old shite..."; "Falls afoul of the unduly self-serving..."; "One would normally cite the original publication, not ResearchGate..."; "I'd say ResearchGate is never a reliable source..." is that RG should NOT be used as the sole citation to any content on Wikipedia.
Take, for instance, this ref you re-inserted...
  •
...that is over 25 years old, also still refers to GT as a monolithic temple alone (since disproven), and—as far as I can tell—never actually published or peer reviewed. This is the definition of non-reliable. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 16:56, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the reply. The links to RG are just WP:CONLINK. You use them, if the RS is not available online, for example. I have explained the difference between a host and the RS multiple times, so I'll just quote what you copied from WP:RSPSS: "Verify whether a paper on ResearchGate is also published in a peer-reviewed academic journal; in these cases, cite the more reliable journal and provide an open access link to the paper (which may be hosted on ResearchGate)". You are right in the example you brought up, the journal was missing from the citation.

Question from Luxewrites (14:01, 30 October 2023) edit

Hello how are you? Please let me know what is the common practices of an editor on here? Is if I have long periods without edits do I lose my account or anything? I am practicing my writing and I want to be professional and unbiased when I choose to be. Do you recommend any YouTube videos to help learn some of the limitations of what I can do, for instance adding internal links, and building off of larger topic pages? --Luxewrites (talk) 14:01, 30 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Luxe. Welcome to Wiki!. No, you won't lose your username/account as long as you know your password and access it every few years or so. I don't know of YouTube videos to recommend, but I put some links on your talk page. There will be tutorials found there. It's pretty easy to edit, and everything can be easily fixed, so don't worry about screwing anything up. Be BOLD and start editing. I'd recommend just fixing spelling and minor things first, until you get the hang of it. Use the links I gave you on your TalkPage, and practice in your sandbox. Best of luck. Hi, ImDumb2345 I don't think that exactly would fly here at Wikipedia, but I thank you for the question; I did get a chuckle out of your request. Cheers, GenQuest "scribble" 00:06, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Question from Superpug2838 on User:Superpug2838 (04:11, 7 November 2023) edit

Ant : the word "thumbnail" (or thumb for short) tells the picture to not take up the whole page.

How do I get the blue links and pictures in my Wikipedia page --Superpug2838 (talk) 04:11, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Follow these coding rules:
  • See the links I put on your talk page. Use brackets to make a blue-link to other wikipedia article titles: Ant gives you Ant.
  • Go to wikipedia commons (those article titles start out with a prefix: File: for pictures available. So, gives you: the picture you see of the guy holding the ant to the right ... >>>>

Practice putting pics on your home page or sandbox and look at other articles that have pictures in them (using the "edit" button) to understand the optional parameters and what they do and copy into your pix. The "thumb" in the sample above is one of these options. Good luck, GenQuest "scribble" 08:05, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Question from Superpug2838 (04:32, 7 November 2023) edit

Hi there I'm also finding trouble finding my published unfinished copy so I am unable to view or even edit it --Superpug2838 (talk) 04:32, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Superpug2838 You need to contact the administrator that deleted your content to recover it to your sandbox. From what I can tell from your content creation, that was probably Liz. If that happens, you will have to work on your articles in your sandbox (the link for that should be in the upper right-corner of your windows). I have put a few links on your talk page, so I would suggest you first read up on how to edit Wikipedia before trying to do so. Practice in your sandbox, and start out fixing small spelling errors in the mainspace articles. Starting an article after just four edits will never work. Article creation in wiki takes hard work at first, and always education, maturity, and competency. You can get there, as we all started out that way. There is an accepted form to Wikipedia articles, and you need to hang around here and educate yourself on how to create that, and what is expected as a volunteer editor. It's fun reading articles and learning new stuff too. Hope this helps, and, Welcome aboard. GenQuest "scribble" 07:31, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Explain? edit

Please explain this. Why would you remove a merge discussion notice from WP:PAM when the merge proposal was still under discussion and had only been open for a short time? While PaulGamerBoy360's own actions there were not exemplary, in unlaterally closing a discussion they'd commented in as an interested party, you basically trainwrecked a merge discussion for no discernable reason. We now still have a crap stub that should almost certainly merge to the article on the parent school, and need to do another merge discussion. That was a total waste of time.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  16:47, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

SMcCandlish I actually improved the stub it to make it encyclopedic (which—if agreed to down the line—would also make it an easy merger). GamerBoy almost immediately reverted that back to the crap it is now and was before. I wasn't going to edit war over it. While I understand your frustration, the request you made at PAM right after an AfD discussion—that involved merging as an option—is basically Forum Shopping, which is not allowed. Since there are no time limits at Wikipedia, I thought it best to give the proposal some breathing room. FS is a pretty good roadblock to any discussion aimed at consensus. For what it's worth, in this case, I agree with the proposed merge, but was attempting to stay uninvolved. I agree, it was a total waste of time, at this time. GenQuest "scribble" 18:23, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
I wasn't even aware of any AfD (otherwise I wouldn't have said it was my intent to take it to AfD if a merge did not happen), so I was certainly not forum shopping. And a merge discussion following an AfD that unclear is never forum shopping to begin with, but normal "Now that this has been kept but is still in an unencyclopedic state, what should we do?" discussion. AfDs very often result in followup discussions. At the AfD, there were only four keepers, one of which said to employ "SEVERE trimming", which of course would (per your own reasoning) make this an even better merge candidate than it began as. As for your rationale above, "would also make it an easy merger ... I agree with the proposed merge" while removing the merge listing is directly contradictory of the delisting action you took, and of "attempting to stay uninvolved". I'm not "angry" with you, but it was an unhelpful and self-conflicting set of actions, even if the instinct to pare out unencyclopedic material was certainly good (as well as consistent with some of the issues raised in the AfD). If you legimately believed that there was some procedural problem with it being listed for merger so soon after an AfD, then the proper thing to do would have been to raise such a concern on the talk page (e.g. in the merge discussion itself), or even take it to WP:AN for examination, not unlaterly take completely conflicting actions that trainwrecked the in-progress process.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  18:39, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
SMcCandlish My attempts to stay neutral here often involve taking actions that seem contradictory, or against my own feelings, but inline with the MoS. That is why I did what I did. I understand now that your request was not intentionally FS. We can still have that discussion about "what should we do." When I copy edited the article, I did the 'severe trimming' as recommended in the AfD discussion; I removed it from the non-encyclopedic state; I added links and cut the crap, but it still got reverted. The only thing I did was move the location of the merge request at PAM-board, I did not remove the Merge Request Banners or close the discussion, I specifically left them in place in order to put the request in the long queue (now at 11 months), hoping more input from the community would occur going forward. I merely put the request on hold, but it was totally stopped by PaulGamerBoy360, who almost immediately removed the banners and closed the discussion, contrary to MoS policy, procedure, and a possible wp:ANI-worthy infraction (regarding OWNERSHIP and INVOLVED)—what with him being totally involved and all. That should all be reverted. I was really expecting someone experienced to step in and stop/revert that, because I didn't want to edit-war, and I don't have time to wrestle with this right now due to RL obligations, but it WAS on my radar to tackle in the future. If you decide to take this issue to the drama boards let me know, I'll back you on it as time permits. That article is currently unimproved crap, and something needs to be done with it, sooner than later. Again, I am sorry for your disappointment, just trying to do what's best for Wikipedia. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 19:42, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough, and this is water under the bridge at this point. I think we'll have to wait for PGB360's "helicoptering" to settle down, and try to address this some time later.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  19:51, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Question from ImDumb2345 (21:08, 12 November 2023) edit

On the page for the Bauhaus song "Terror Couple Kill Colonel", it refers to Bauhaus as an "English gothic rock band", however on the page for the album 1979-1983 it is referred to as a "post-punk band", could I change the page for "Terror Couple Kill Colonel" to refer to them as a "post-punk band"? Also how do I link it to the page for post-punk? --ImDumb2345 (talk) 21:08, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

The link for post-punk is already in the INFOBOX of that song's page. You could copy that link and add that it is also considered post-punk in the body of the page and reference the album if that is what you are asking. I wouldn't replace it entirely. Remember your link-brackets: post punk. Good luck, GenQuest "scribble" 21:42, 12 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Gissing family edit

Hello.

  1. This move had the effect of redirecting Jane Gissing. You say "Ready for several merges of individuals, one per AfD", and I believe that must be Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alfred Gissing, which seems to me a very bad non-admin decision. I am in complete agreement with Msrasnw on that page. But while Jane Gissing did not at that point seem to be notable, may I ask what the process was and who was notified?
  2. Looking at this edit, would you mind explaining the process that led you to redirect Algernon Gissing to Gissing Family? I am struggling to see how an Afd could have found someone with an article in the DNB to be non-notable. If there was no Afd, that page should I think be reinstated. Moonraker (talk) 00:11, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Moonraker see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alfred Gissing. I merged him into a family article because merging into George would have just been weird. Project Merge gets that stuff after AfDs all the time, and we adjust it if needed. For symmetry with that family, Algernon came along for the ride, but that was a judgement call on me. The daughter, Jane's, stub article was used as the base for the family article, to preserve her scant info also. If you think notability has changed with any of these folks, please feel free to split them off. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 02:33, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
    • Thank you for the frank answer, GenQuest, I gather you didn't follow any process. No, I don't see that any notability has changed, as there can be no doubt about Algernon Gissing. I'll reinstate that page now. It will leave "Gissing Family" as a page about Alfred, with a few sentences about others tacked on, which seems to underline how bad the Afd decision was. I would only say that redirecting pages ought not to be a one-person action, and if you do ever act that way perhaps you should add an explanation to the talk page, which people watching the page can see and disagree with. Explain the revert please edit

Hi, you reverted my edit on the article United States war crimes without providing an edit summary. Could you please explain this revert and use edit summaries when reverting next time? Thank you. –Vipz (talk) 21:30, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Hello, Vipz; per your query/comment:
1) This was an un-discussed, controversial template addition made to a contentious article;
2) The fly-by edit that added 'war crimes' to the "American Imperialism" template itself was undiscussed, and indeed makes little sense;
3) As to the intermittent lack of an edit summary, that is the result of a known glitch in the 'Rollback'-permission feature of Wikipedia, and is not of my doing. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 00:10, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Cassandra Peterson edit

Actress Cassandra Peterson’s middle name is Gay, which is sourced from her autobiography. I keep seeing you removing it. Gay is also a name, not just a reference to a sexual orientation. It was a common back in the 1950s when Cassandra was born. I just wanted to make you aware of this fact since you seem to think it’s being added in as a joke as she came as bisexual in recent years. This simply isn’t the case. It’s in her memoir. It’s her legal birth name. Partyclams (talk) 00:39, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll let my cousin, Gay Marie B____. know. In the meantime, please find a reference that actually verifies that as her middle name so we can add it back in. Page four of the current reference given does not. Once found and documented, we can add the reference and the middle name back in. Until then, it's just like Facebook (no picture? --Didn't happen). Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 05:20, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
This is a page taken directly from her memoir: https://i.ibb.co/hLhVNKF/IMG-3682.jpg I have the Kindle edition. It’s page 4 on it. If you have the physical book, and it’s not on page 4, please let me know what page it is then. And BTW, I gave an explanation about the name Gay because two users told me that they thought it was vandalism, a troll insert, a comment on her sexuality. Apparently, Cassandra received some blowback with the public when she came out about her relationship with a woman. Partyclams (talk) 17:33, 5 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Just make a reference for it and be sure to put it in the article. Without the ref, it'll probably get removed again. If you need help, let me know. Regards, GenQuest "scribble" 00:15, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

If not, is his winning it talked about (not just passing mentions) in any news stories, journals, or magazines? See the Wikipedia Notability guidelines for including items on Wikipedia. Alien and Sedition Acts Revert edit

Hello -- I saw you reverted an edit I made on the page Alien and Sedition Acts, and left a message on my talk page indicating that it was because the information was incorrect. Could you clarify on which parts you believed to be incorrect? The information I added was from (what I believe to be) reliable sources, which I cited. In particular I saw you also reverted a previous edit attempting to clarify that the Alien Enemies Act specifically applies to individuals from enemy countries, which seems to be an important distinction and one supported by all material I can find on the subject. I can also open a discussion on the talk page for the article itself if needed, but wanted to check with you first on what the exact objection was. Thanks!

(Sidenote: I did notice that my edit had a typo in one of the source references, although I can correct that separately if it ends up getting added back later.) Rovenrat (talk) 00:45, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Rovenrat. I question either your source, or your interpretation of it. There were yet to be Republicans in the United States in the given time frame. Is it possible you meant philosophical republicans? (Note the small "r"). GenQuest "scribble" 05:41, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see what you mean. I was referring specifically to the Democratic-Republican Party, whose members are often referred to simply as "Republicans" in many sources as well as throughout Wikipedia (see Democratic-Republican Party#Party name for more info). So yes, it was meant in the broader context of the word "republicanism" in American politics, although not necessarily with a small "r". To avoid confusion in the future, I could adjust my edit to make sure that at least once per section I refer to the party/members as "Democratic-Republicans" or "Jeffersonian Republicans". Let me know what you think -- thanks! Rovenrat (talk) 17:14, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That should very well clarify things for our readers. Thanks, and happy editing! GenQuest "scribble" 23:06, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Is there a section of Wikipedia about law and legal matters, such as legal precedent and specific legal cases? --KingCharlesTheFirst (talk) 17:40, 27 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

KingCharlesTheFirst, there are no "sections." You would need to know the reference name of a law to look it up here. There may or may not be an article about it here. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of all things, not just specific categories, such as law. There are, however, category listings at the end of each article; if you click on them, they will list other articles that exist in that category. Again, there may or may not be an article on what you seek. You need a reference site, specifically for Law. I'd search the web for that. GenQuest "scribble" 01:25, 28 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Question from Marie B. Crowell on Talk:Juandalynn Givan (12:59, 9 March 2024) edit

Can you please help me! Here in Jackson Al. The page I was writing to you on, vanished! I was awarded a grant for my new home. Which is up but, the contractor, Micheal Warren , said I am not on city sewage. I called Paul Thomas, water treatment man. He said he'll investigate it. Next day.his guys have dug up the part of property, where a trailer was, saying that was our sewage hook up. But. We know that it was not! My husband & brother had to dig up our pipes once. Clean the pipes out and fix them back! My sewage pipes weren't hooked to the trailer ones at all. So, when we talked to the contractor, he looked funny. He just told us, what the guys digging said, and looked at us funny saying well, that's what they're saying.. "I ain't got a dog in this fight! But they dug it out, and the contractor has to hook it up! I bought properties. Where old houses use to be. This is the second time, I was told I wasn't on city sewage. First time, I was renting, and the city paid me money back. This time, I believe they are trying to cover up. Because, I have lived there for years, and didn't know this. But, a older man lived on the property, years before I bought it, and he had an out house! I went to the city and told them. they did absolutely nothing!! The church next door may not be either. Their baptizing pool water comes onto property. Which I don't mind, just saying. There were only 4 houses here for years. Now, only 3, one has been abandoned for years, one torn down about 4years. Only Myself & first cousin left! PLEASE... CAN YOU HELP...ALL BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD, MILL, & RAILROAD! MY CELL I CAN Email to y.Thanks, God bless you! 🙏🏽 --Marie B. Question from Mrugankdake (14:15, 1 April 2024) edit

How do I create a wiki page? --Mrugankdake (talk) 14:15, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Mrugankdake, Type the title you want into the Wikipedia search bar, it will ask if you want to create that article. Then input your subject information and save. Look at other articles for sub titles and formats. GenQuest "scribble" 20:18, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I'd like to know how to add proper references. Usually when I add a reference, in the references list, it shows a url instead of a title. I want learn how I can improve my articles, which are mostly dedicated to the fulgoridae family. --Uploader1234567890 (talk) 10:07, 9 April 2024 (UTC) (talk page watcher) @Uploader1234567890: You should have a read of WP:REFB. - UtherSRG (talk) 11:10, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
