Important Notice edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in the Arab–Israeli conflict. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Liberia edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you have done several times at Liberia. You have made the same two edits repeatedly, switching between the two without any explanation at all. If I am missing the explanation, please direct me to it. Otherwise, your edits may constitute vandalism and will be reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Anwegmann (talk) 19:28, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Short Descriptions edit

Short description for Liberia edit

Why do you keep changing the short description for Liberia? You have been engaged in a slow edit war with Anwegmann since late March. You also seem to have been edit warring with yourself. Specifically, you have reverted Anwegmann three times since March 23, but you have reverted yourself five times since April 26.

Before March 23, 2021 (since September 17, 2020), there were two entries for the short description at the top of the article. Both read, "Country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa". Only the first entry was displayed, however. On May 8, Anwegmann removed the first short description, which read "Country on the coast of West Africa", leaving the second short description, which read "Country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa", which became the short description that is displayed. Following is the history of changes to the short description for Liberia since March 23:

Edits to "short description"
Date Short description changed to User Diff
March 23 Country on the West African coast Jomart Allaguliyev [1]
March 23 Country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa Anwegmann [2]
April 6 Country in West Africa Jomart Allaguliyev [3]
April 6 Country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa Anwegmann [4]
April 15 Country on the West African coast Jomart Allaguliyev [5]
April 26 Country in West Africa Jomart Allaguliyev [6]
May 4 Country on the West African coast Jomart Allaguliyev [7]
May 7 Country in West Africa Jomart Allaguliyev [8]
May 9 Country on the West African coast Jomart Allaguliyev [9]
May 9 Country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa Anwegmann [10]
May 12 Country on the West African coast Jomart Allaguliyev [11]
May 14 Country in West Africa Jomart Allaguliyev [12]
May 14 Country on the Atlantic coast of West Africa Anwegmann [13]

You and Anwegmann need to stop edit warring and discuss what the short description should say on Talk:Liberia. Beyond that, can you explain why you keep changing between two different versions of the short description, in effect reverting yourself five times since April 26? - Donald Albury 17:54, 14 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Donald Albury: As I explained on my talk page, and as you can see in the section above titled "Liberia", I have reached out to this user in an effort either to get them to stop or, if anything, to explain why they have continuously made the same edits, often reverting themselves. I was not trying to act too hastily, so I was trying to invoke the three-warning standard—again, as you can see above. I am not sure exactly what is expected of me in this situation, as I feel as though I have done everything I can without a) acting too quickly and/or b) acting maliciously. May 2021 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to remove portions of page content from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you are at Great Britain, you will be blocked from editing.

June 2021 edit

Please stop your disruptive editing, particularly of articles' short descriptions. Nearly a dozen times, you have changed the working short descriptions of international relations articles to simplistic, generic, and unhelpful descriptions. Not once have you left an explanation for the edit, forcing others to revert your unproductive changes. If you continue to remove functional descriptions from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you have, for example, at France–Turkmenistan relations, Kazakhstan–Russia relations, and Azerbaijan–Turkey relations, to name just a few, you will be blocked from editing. Anwegmann (talk) 20:37, 6 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Passport. Laplorfill (talk) 08:44, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Final Warning Over Vandalism and Disruptive Editing to Short Descriptions edit

This is your final warning for vandalizing Wikipedia repeatedly, as you have done on dozens of pages, most recently Great Britain, Passport, and Berniece Baker Miracle. Your edits to articles' short descriptions are unhelpful, often incorrect, and can be categorized as both disruptive editing and vandalism. I am pinging Laplorfill here as well as Gareth Griffith-Jones, both of whom have previously issued warnings to you for the same activity. If you continue to vandalize and/or make disruptive, unhelpful, or incorrect edits, you will be reported and blocked from editing without further warning. Blocked edit

You have been blocked because it seems your only editing pattern is to disruptively edit Short Descriptions of articles. Your talk page it littered with warnings about your editing patterns, that you have ignored, and it's also clear you do not understand the meaning and point of the Short Description field (its only supposed to be used for disambiguation not a summary of the article.) Since you refuse to change your edits, and persist in disruptively editing despite many attempts at communication, I have no choice but to block you. Canterbury Tail talk 14:41, 15 October 2021 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
