Cleanup of Talk Page

Anne Hathaway edit

There was a proposal brought up and discussed in 2010 to basically do exactly what you just did and it was rejected. Personally, I don't care one way or another, however if you feel strongly about the page move, I would suggest proposing it again rather than making the changes yourself. You'll only upset people otherwise. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 12:15, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

- Oh I didn't realize that. I think it should be changed to redirect to the actress because that would naturally be the most searched subject in current times. Marty2Hotty (talk) 22:36, 2 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

- I'm just checking my talk page and realized that Anne Hathaway now goes to the actress as I wanted. Basically, it used to go to the disambiguation page. I was like, who else would someone searching "Anne Hathaway" look for. Interesting :) Marty2Hotty (talk) 11:31, 14 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I'm Marty2Hotty and am using a computer to inquire as to why I'm blocked. A user called MuZemike banned me for reasons unknown to me. The reason is I am apparently linked to a Bigsean0300. There are no entry links and I have no idea who it is which leads me to think it is an IP link. I have edited articles from my public library, which leads me to think this may be an association. The moderator blocked my email, and cannot even edit my own talk page. I've had this account for years and see no reason why I should be linked to this bigsean0300. Please reverse this ban. I haven't created any new accounts and submitted an appeal through the form. The form stated that it would be better to add this tag on, which is why I'm doing so. Thanks in advance.

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Note that, after looking at some information that I have received privately, I have reason to believe that this is not a sock puppet of a banned user and has unblocked as a result. This looks like the result of a likely false positive combined with some joe jobbing going on. My apologies for the inconvenience and my error, and I assure that it was not deliberate. --MuZemike 07:39, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

- Thanks MuZemike. When I researched the reason as to why I was blocked, I looked up the "confirmed sockpuppets" section of Bigsean0300:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikipedia_sockpuppets_of_Bigsean0300

If you scroll down to the "M" section:

M User:Marty2Hotty User:Marty2snotty User:Marty2snottybigsean0300 User:Max Payne1

You will see that there was an account called "Marty2snottybigsean0300", which led to the admin to action Marty2snotty, and it seems as though my account "Marty2Hotty" was taken down for only having only a similar username, without any other links. I have had this account for 3 1/2 years. I hope that in the future, the evidence can be cited. At the very least, allow a member to edit their own talk page. I had difficulty trying to make contact with admins! Marty2Hotty (talk) 23:19, 20 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom unblock appeal edit

This user has appealed their block to the Arbitration Committee. After running a check on the account the Committee have declined the unblock request. There is sufficient evidence to link the account to Bigsean0300.

For the Arbitration Committee. SilkTork ✔Tea time 09:28, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

- The initial block was blocked in error. I sent a "ticket" before emailing the administrator who blocked me. After being unblocked, I heard back from the arbitration committee and was blocked again. This is the only account I have ever had. Marty2Hotty (talk) 20:14, 27 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

We are continuing to look into the matter, sorry for any inconvenience. SilkTork ✔Tea time 10:12, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

- Thanks for looking into it. I am happy I have a chance to edit my talk page. I wasn't allowed to the first time I was blocked. It was pretty crazy, as I had no idea how I was linked. I then had to investigate myself and it really does seem that it was similar username. I understand the policies needed to prevent spam/abuse on Wikipedia, but by doing so, you're going to take down some innocent accounts at the same time. Again, I've had this account for 3 1/2 years and haven't had any other. It would be nice to have this account active again, because I enjoy editing wikipedia pages from time to time to help out. Thanks again - 20:35, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

After consultation with the original blocking (and unblocking) admin, the Arbitration Committee have agreed to unblock this account. The banned user Bigsean0300 and Marty2Hotty had technical similarities and it appears Bigsean0300 took advantage of that to create two new sock accounts making it appear as though Marty2Hotty was involved. Further technical and behavioural evidence have cleared this account. SilkTork ✔Tea time 20:56, 28 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Bateman edit

Hi. I reverted your edition. I explain: Wikipedia uses the common name, a policy about names. The name of the article like that is the common name, not the current name. For example, American Rapper Snoop Dogg changed his name to Snoop Lion, but the article name stills Dogg because he spent years under that name. Mr. Hutter, the same. He appeared in WWE as Bateman for two years, so now, Bateman is the common name. He uses EC3 for one, two months. We can't say "EC3 is the name that he will use forward" because we can't be sure. If tomorrow Hutter died, changed his name or is fired, the common name will be Bateman. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 12:24, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • Bateman is not his "common" name. Just because he used it in WWE, doesn't mean it should be his permanent ring name. It's not like Hulk Hogan vs Hollywood Hogan (where Hulk would win). Thanks for your explanation but I disagree, because Bateman was on NXT and a few shows in WWE, but that doesn't make it permanent. Marty2Hotty (talk) 20:51, 13 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • I'm reviewing my own talk page. I'm glad that his article is now Ethan Carter III as I wanted it to be. But at the time of the edit (December 2013), his character was new. Marty2Hotty (talk) 05:23, 1 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

Friendly notice edit

Hi! I notice you're quite new here? Welcome! I am too..sort of..but have been doing loads of editing so have lots of experience :) Just wanted to tell you that I reverted your change on Kristin kreuk's page. If you can provide a source/link to a website that proves that they have been living together or been with eachother since 2004, then you can change it back to 2004 and I'll leave it be. It's just that the personal life section says "partner since 2011" and so having 2004 in the infobox would contradict that.

Cheers

Miss.Indecisive (talk) 07:19, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I've been editing articles here and there for like 4 years. Welcome to Wikipedia I guess. But there was an article where she said that she was with him for eight years. The article has been changed so much since a couple of years ago that for me to find it, I'd have to go back a few years, but I'm too lazy to do that and couldn't really care less. Accurately, they met on 2004 mini-series "Earthsea" (where they were cast together) and have been together since. I actually met her a few years ago too :) - Marty2Hotty (talk) 10:18, 12 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ah, my bad! Thought you were new haha :D Lucky you!! So i guess we'll just leave it at 2011 for now, and if you do find it, source it and change it to "2004-present". Then again, although they met at that time, we do have to consider whether they started living together in 2004 as well..which is the apparent "criteria" for the partner section. :)

Albert Stubblebine edit

Please don't blank material because you don't like it. It's sourced, including to an interview with him. If you think the sources fail WP:RS, take it up on the article's talk page. I note that you left most of the stuff about him walking through walls in the article, which made your edit pretty pointless so far as I can see. Doug Weller (talk) 19:09, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • The page of Albert Stubblebine is merely an attempt to ruin his good name due to the fact he questioned the 9/11 attacks. Too bad it does not work for visitors like myself. He does not talk about walking through walls in any of his interviews. It was a Daily Mail article used to defame him. There needs to be credible sources. I am not going to fight the people that want to defame him. Marty2Hotty (talk) 21:36, 10 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Man of Constant Sorrow edit

Just a note to say that some of the minor versions you added have been deleted. This is mainly because of the restriction placed by WP:COVERSONG, therefore if you wish to add a song, do give a source that indicate its notability, e.g. it has been discussed in a book or other reliable sources in a non-trivial way, and links to YouTube and Twitter could not establish such notability. Hzh (talk) 14:55, 5 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks. I didn't even add those versions. Someone else did and there was a note asking for a source. So, I just found links to YouTube and linked them. They do appear to be good sources because they were performed by artists that have a Wikipedia article. Marty2Hotty (talk) 08:02, 7 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Loose Change move edit

I have reverted your move of Loose Change to Loose Change (films). First, the primary name should never be a redirect, so either we need to do a couple of moves or leave things alone. Next, the name you moved the disambiguation page was not appropriate. There are items on Loose Change that are not films. If you think a page move needs to happen you will need to start a discussion, see WP:RM for more information. -- GB fan 21:00, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • I would like to request a move that "Loose Change" be the name of the actual article and a link to disambiguation be noted above. Most people searching this will be searching the film series. Marty2Hotty (talk) 21:29, 13 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Your edit to Angela Hill, as we has been reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept uncited material. I know you don't edit here that often, but since you've accumulated over 4,000 edits since you began editing here in 2008, you should know by now that Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you have sources for the material you wish to add to the article, please cite them, and do not add that material without them. Thanks. 16:04, 23 February 2023 (UTC)

Sean O'Malley edit

Hi. In spite of it clearly being in line with the given source, you changed O'Malley's nickname from right to wrong. We always go by Sherdog for nicknames.

https://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Sean-OMalley-135099

Sometimes (on rare occasions) we use ESPN when there is a dispute.

https://www.espn.co.uk/mma/fighter/_/id/4205093/sean-omalley

While it's not independent and therefore less than ideal, people sometimes (although not for infobox nicknames) refer to the UFC site.

https://www.ufc.com/athlete/sean-omalley

Again, while this wouldn't pass as a reason to include in the infobox, you could review a green IRS to corroborate. Like this.

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/ufc/omalley-sterling-ufc-292-results-b2396194.html

I'm sure you have noticed a pattern.
