Commas have their uses, old boy edit

A little bit of digging into the old topsoil suggests there isn't one old chap

  • I was tempted to retort that there are indeed many old chaps, but wondered what this fascinating emerging discussion about the number of old chaps had to do with the OP's question.

... any connection would be very distant old boy

  • Here, you had me wondering about why you're talking about very distant old boys. Are you such a person yourself?

Then I read your user page:

This Wikipedia thing is a bit of lark what!

  • What is a "lark what"? You probably meant to write This Wikipedia thing is a bit of lark, what!

I'm happy to do my bit to help out so let's get stuck in chaps!

  • Getting stuck in chaps is something the Grenadier Guards were wont to do, old bean. Is this what you want all of us to do? I for one wouldn't mind too much at all, depending on the other chaps involved, of course, but I'm sure many of my friends and associates would take extreme umbrage at such an unorthodox suggestion, old fruit. Disambiguation link notification for March 12 edit

Hi. When you recently edited Crufts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dog show (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Spanner in the works edit

[1] It's a great shame we are not supposed to link to YT. Yes, it's a bit dated, yes there's some canned laughter. But that really is very clever and (still) funny. I was hoping to find a date, but alas no. Is that Les Dennis on the end? Regards. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:56, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so much. The Spanners At Christmas also very good. But not a patch on the acidic "We're a Folk Group". Les Dennis, Dustin Gee and Jeffrey Holland (Spike from HiDiHi). I'm sure it was more fashionable to like Ben Elton and Alexei Sayle in the 80s. But that is a real gem. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:39, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (File:Crufts Logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Crufts Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:28, 11 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

File:Rear of the Year logo.gif missing description details edit

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as:

is missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.

If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.

If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 05:05, 14 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Joe Francis edit

Hi. Regarding your edit here. I don't think that a list of criminal convictions can be classified as "legal issues", particularly when they relate entirely to the what made him known, his businesses, and what made them successful. Omitting this from the lead would mislead the reader to important aspects of his notability. I'd tend to agree with you otherwise, had the "legal issues" been unrelated to his work, and there not been quite so many of them. Everything I added to the lead is also from the sources used in the article. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:35, 19 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Proposed deletion of File:RAINN Logo.gif edit

The file File:RAINN Logo.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 8 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
