ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:51, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Steamboat Willie edit

Hello Sumanull, thank you for your help coordinating the Media of the Day for 1 January 2024. Please allow me to clarify a couple of things so there is no confusion:
Steamboat Willie will famously enter into the Public Domain on 1 January 2024.
– We will celebrate this event with a post on the Diff blog that is currently being finalised.
– The existing Steamboat Willie file on Commons will be undeleted on the late evening of 31 December 2023.
Thank you again, and please let me know if you have any questions! Gnom (talk) 10:18, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Gotcha. I was just bothered because I couldn't find a separate discussion re undeletion and it wasn't the image originally used. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 20:21, 2 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hybrid airship edit

Thanks for the revert. I went back to it and after I enlarged the image I saw that the airship was flying toward the camera and not to the right as I had thought from the thumb image. It really was a flying wing and not a lifting body! Oh, my poor eyes... Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 02:18, 10 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Indian Navy ensign edit

Hello @Sumanuil:

As the new ensign of the Indian air force have been updated on country data template, can you please revert back your edits on topic related to the air force, as it would be very difficult for me to manualy undo each one.

Regards Peshab Kar Raha Hu (talk) 17:14, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'll revert some of them at least, but I am of the opinion that some of them don't need the little flag icon that the template adds. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 23:18, 17 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Okay with me. Peshab Kar Raha Hu (talk) 13:37, 19 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Jueves (song) moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Jueves (song). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. microbiologyMarcus (petri dish·growths) 14:39, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ummm...it's not my article. Angeliiitoaf16 published it, I just cleaned it up. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 19:11, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Oasis worldwide sales edit

Hi I believe Oasis have now passed the 75 million records sales worldwide. Can you look at this please ?. Can you add them to the list of the biggest selling artists of all time please ?. Kind Regards 31.200.189.175 (talk) 17:50, 29 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

You should probably ask on the article's talk page. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 01:04, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hull Botanic Gardens railway station edit

Further to your query on my talk page, since the Wikipedia article is headed Hull Botanic Gardens railway station, I ensured that the railway station on the route map was named accordingly.

Xenophon Philosopher (talk) 23:09, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

That wasn't the route map. That was an image file name. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 00:47, 5 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Do you agree that the route map is now correct?

Xenophon Philosopher (talk) 19:46, 5 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Seems like it. Just don't "correct" any more file names, ok? - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 00:36, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Removing a file that does exist edit

I read the edit-notice:)

In this edit, you removed two images, without explanation. So "without explanation" is annoying. But on substance, File:Plutonocene.jpg of them was in the process of being deleted from enwiki for license reasons, so obviously it's no problem to remove an image that won't exist (though it has now been recreated and so re-added). But File:Neptunocene-from-xtal-3D-balls.png was and is still present on commons, and is validly PD-licensed. What is the reason for removing the 3D-balls file? DMacks (talk) 02:20, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

The file name indicated it was an image of Neptunocene, not Plutonocene, so I thought it might have been misplaced.21:31, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying (would have been appropriate to include an edit-summary saying that, to save several of us some time). DMacks (talk) 16:02, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

ahah edit

very good point, I see the problem, the | line between the file name and the descriptors being the magic line, thanks for pointing that out! cheers JarrahTree 02:05, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Australian Army Aviation Corps edit

Hello Sumanuil, could you look at my question to you sent on March 14 (it was included on this talk page on March 14)

Hello Sumanuil. In the article entitled "Austalian Army Aviation", I had added "Corps" to the first line of the article so that it read "Australian Army Aviation Corps". I did this because the full name of the Corps is the "Australian Army Aviation Corps" and not "Australian Army Aviation". Please see this link from the Australian Army which sets out the full name: https://www.army.gov.au/about-us/army-corps/australian-army-aviation-corps By reverting my edit, it restored the incomplete name of the Corps in the article. I realize that the title of the article is "Austrlian Army Aviation". If this is the reason that you reverted my edit, is there a way to change the name of the article to "Australian Army Aviation Corps"? I read your notice about edit reversions but the reasons do not seem to apply here. If they do, what should I do to ensure that the the correct name "Australian Army Aviation Corps" can be used in the article? Greenwood10 (talk) 16:08, 14 March 2024 (UTC) Greenwood10 (talk) 00:30, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Then read it again. You "corrected" a file name. You also didn't provide a source. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 00:58, 16 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Tagging pages for speedy deletion edit

Hello, Sumanuil,

Please do not tag pages for CSD G5 speedy deletion unless the page creator is not only the major contributor to the article or draft but if they are a CONFIRMED sockpuppet of a block-evading editor, ideally through an SPI complaint. Having suspicions about an editor doesn't warrant deleting their contributions. If you believe an editor is a sockpuppet, file a case at SPI or contact a checkuser on their talk page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 07:03, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Got it. But the template dates being from BEFORE the current article's creation is kind of shady, for one. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 08:09, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Editing of Holly Goldberg Sloan edit

Sumanuil-- I appreciate you attention to detail and the work you do for WIKI. I have restored the page as edited before for Holly Goldberg Sloan/First Condon. I am Holly Goldberg Sloan (and I write to you from Belgrade where I am on location working on a TV show). I have added in the information regarding my high school (South Eugene) and the NYTimes summer pick and the Christopher Award win. These are all very impactful in my career and are hard facts, not something that can be disputed.

Can you please tell me what I can do (other than provide the NYTimes link, the high school link, the Christopher Award publicity via a link)? I confess that I don't understand the process and I don't know what I'm doing wrong when I try to add or correct the entry.

Additionally, my father Lewis R. Goldberg is still alive, and he is a prominent social scientist. He wanted my page to link to his page. I think that might have also been removed at one point, as well as the names of my children.

Again, thank you for your help making this right. All best, Holly PS I do not understand how to add a photo. FirstCondon (talk) 11:19, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Stop. You are not allowed to edit the article about yourself, per Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 20:42, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
