Support request with team editing experiment project edit

Dear tech ambassadors, instead of spamming the Village Pump of each Wikipedia about my tiny project proposal for researching team editing (see here: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Research_team_editing), I have decided to leave to your own discretion if the matter is relevant enough to inform a wider audience already. I would appreciate if you could appraise if the Wikipedia community you are more familiar with could have interest in testing group editing "on their own grounds" and with their own guidance. In a nutshell: it consists in editing pages as a group instead of as an individual. This social experiment might involve redefining some aspects of the workflow we are all used to, with the hope of creating a more friendly and collaborative environment since editing under a group umbrella creates less social exposure than traditional "individual editing". I send you this message also as a proof that the Inspire Campaign is already gearing up. As said I would appreciate of *you* just a comment on the talk page/endorsement of my project noting your general perception about the idea. Nothing else. Your contribution helps to shape the future! (which I hope it will be very bright, with colors, and Wikipedia everywhere) Regards from User:Micru on meta.

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open! edit

Hello, The Anome. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.

NHRP detaggables edit

So, I ended up here: User:The Anome/NHRP detaggables because of this redirect, Skeleton Cave Massacre Site. I recently created Skeleton Cave (Arizona), and when I was linking other pages to the article, I found the detaggables page. In scanning your list, I came across Work, John, House and Mill Site which I then linked to John Work House and Mill Site which has existed since 2006.

It occurred to me that there may be a number of pages already in existence, but since they are not formatted the same as what's on this page, they aren't being identified as being done. I'm trying to think on how to solve this problem. --evrik (talk)

Speedy deletion nomination of Community Database License Agreement edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Community Database License Agreement requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Fram (talk) 11:05, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled edit

Considering the recurring issues with many of your creations (deletion, draftification, ...), would you consider removing the "autopatrolled" status from your account? Fram (talk) 11:09, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

And now Draft:Final (C++), a mainspace article sourced to a wiki and a blog? If you don't voluntarily remove autopatrolled, I'll raise this at ANI (or whichever is the best board to ask for removal of userrights). Fram (talk) 09:56, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Has there been a recent change in article notability requirements? I have been regularly creating articles for over 20 years without complaint until recently, when there seems to have been a spate of draftification of my recently created articles in the last couple of months; the previous convention seems to have been to treat stub articles as seeds, not to immediately draftify them. There is certainly no question of the notability of the 'final' keyword, or indeed Lyneal, which you will now see has multiple sources. For example, I can quite easily source the "final" article to the C++11 standard, if you'd like: here you go: [19], [20]. A few moments more would find book sources; Am I right in thinking you'd be willing to un-draftify the article if I did that?
If you want to piss me off, immediately threatening me with ANI is a good way to do it. I'd appreciate a more civil approach before reaching for the big guns. — The Anome (talk) 15:09, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
(ec) If you had answered the first post in this thread, then there would not have been a need to "immediately"(?) threaten you with ANI. And there are more requirements for articles than just being on a notable subject, I'ld hope you would be aware of this. Extremely poor or completely lacking sourcing are not acceptable from experienced editors. Fram (talk) 15:16, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
This just gets worse, you know. Are you really claiming that having a Github page in any way establishes any kind of notability? Really? Or a "working draft" of a primary source, the developers of C++? Fram (talk) 15:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry I didn't respond to your earlier message. You have a point about sourcing, and I'm happy to up my sourcing game. But seriously, are we no longer doing stub articles? — The Anome (talk) 15:21, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Stub articles are no problem. Unsourced or very badly sourced ones (or ones on non-notable subjects) are a problem though. Fram (talk) 15:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Fram: By the way, we have seem to have tens of thousands of articles about sportspeople whose cites are only really mentions-in-passing in databases, which seem to fall short of the standards you require. Or listings of places in countries similarly sourced only to database entries. Should all of these be draftified? Would you like to start with Benito Calderón? I'd be happy to provide you with a feed of similar articles to keep you busy. — The Anome (talk) 15:24, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
(ec)Standards for sportspeople have been tightened, people have been essentially banned for not adhering to them (and other issues), see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/Conduct_in_deletion-related_editing#Lugnuts. And no, we normally don't mass draftify them (although even that has happened in the past in some cases, and many are e.g. redirected to lists), but we do try to stop the influx of new problematic or sub-standard articles. Fram (talk) 15:36, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

We could easily delete tens of thousands of such poorly sourced articles. Is this a project you'd like to take on? Also, would you mind reviewing Draft:Lyneal and Draft:Final (C++), and let me know if they now meet your sourcing standards? — The Anome (talk) 15:41, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, the problems with other articles are no excuse to let you continue to make poor articles without getting them reviewed by NPP. And I see that you still use e.g. that wiki as a source for the C++ article, and have added yet another blog, and a book by the main designer of the language, and another primary source. Fram (talk) 15:54, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
So, let's get this straight. An official Microsoft publication is not a valid source? The official ISO standard for a programming language is not sufficient to establish notability, and a book by Stroustrup is not a valid source for an article about C++? — The Anome (talk) 15:58, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The official standard for a programming language is not sufficient to establish notability for every aspect or detail of that programming language, no. Why would it? I'm not arguing that C++ isn't notable after all, that would be ridiculous. Please reread WP:N and the requirement for independent sourcing to establish it. The book by Stroustrop is a valid source for content, but again not to establish notability. Fram (talk) 16:02, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Community Database License Agreement moved to draftspace edit

Thanks for your contributions to Community Database License Agreement. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. TheGreatestLuvofAll (talk) 13:20, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
