Comment: looks like it has been copied and pasted from somewhere? on draft wikipage on Jan Poolman edit

Hi Theroadislong, you commented on the draft wikipedia page on Jan Poolman that looks like it is has been copied and pasted from somewhere. This is not the case. I wrote the page myself - I prepared it in word and later in my wiki-sandbox. There are some citations in there but they are indicated by "". So if that is the only reason why you rejected the page I wonder if you can accept it after this response of me.

note that I also have written the wikipedia page in dutch - If I need to add that that is also fine with me I can do that. The Dutch version is a translation of the English version.

Please let me know what I should change to get it accepted.

The reason I thought it might have been copied and pasted from somewhere is the weird repeating of the phrase "brontekst bewerken". Theroadislong (talk) 18:36, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Theroadislong, ok I see your point - "brontekst bewerken" is Dutch and is there I think because I am new to this and I prepared the text in the Dutch wikipedia sandbox...and copy pasted it to the English wikipedia - it didn't catch my attention because I thought it was there because it was not published yet. I will remove those texts. And I will also work on your other comments by removing the succesfull / prolific wording. Will do so coming days and will resubmit. Thank you for reviewing the text so fast and to give me your feedback! Appreciated a lot.

Hi, I have removed all "succesfull", prolific, the (R)s and other non-neutral wording. Could you please review again?
Best Wikicluck44 Wikicluck44 (talk) 06:31, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Theroadislong, I adjusted the wording into neutral wording, removed all the (R)s. Could you please review and approve to publish? Or otherwise indicate how I could improve the text so that you will approve it?
Best Wikicluck44 (talk) 07:02, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi theroadislong, thanks for checking my draft wikipage, still under construction... You commented the following:"Please don't add external links to the body of the draft, we don't use them." I am struggling a bit with this. So if I place a reference with the text - and there is a pdf or full text of it available, how can I best add the external link to the reference? Should I do this within the reference list? And I see in other wikipages a section with external links - can I create such a section and add relevant external links there? e.g. the researchgate external link shows the number of articles Jan Poolman has written but also the number of reads and citations, which give an impression whether he is indeed seen as an expert in the field of bacterial vaccines by others. Wikicluck44 (talk) 16:45, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes best to keep external links in a section called "External links" at the bottom of the article. Theroadislong (talk) 16:49, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the advice TheRoadIsLong - I have adapted the references and external links and resubmitted. Hopefully you can approve the article this time. Best Wikicluck44 (talk) 11:48, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Editing Bonnie Rychlak Draft Page edit

While I appreciate your feedback, I'm still at a loss to understand the sole criteria you are applying for notability for an artist, which is providing links to collections in public institutions. I have several problems with this criteria. First, this is the first time I'm hearing of it. It seems rather arbitrary. Second, there are literally hundreds of Wikipedia pages for artists that don't meet this standard. Perhaps not coincidentally, the majority of these are pages for male artists. I undertook the task of writing this entry based on my own assessment (as an internationally recognized and widely published art historian)of the notability of this individual. Moreover, I am answering the call of the Women Artist Project to narrow the gap between pages on Wikipedia for male and female artists. Also, Rychlak is notable for her role as both artist and curator. Her role as a leading authority on the Japanese American artist Isamu Noguchi with an extensive list of exhibitions and publications alone is noteworthy. I would really like to get this entry before someone from the Women Artist Project, who I believe would be positioned to provide the best feedback on this article. Would you be able to advise as to how that could be done? Thank you. Gaw54 (talk) 23:44, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am part of the Women in Red Project. One of the criteria for WP:NARTIST is having works in public collections, museums etc. Rychlak meets this critera, but you had no sources to support the collections, add those and I can accept the draft. Theroadislong (talk) 05:50, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Cindy Ji Hye Kim edit

Thank you very much for reviewing this page. Is there anything I can do to get the title unprotected (and approved)? Diaeinsofa (talk) 16:22, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

It will need an admin's attention, I don't know why it was protected initially. Theroadislong (talk) 17:05, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Diaeinsofa I have requested it be unprotected at WP:Requests for page protection/Decrease#Cindy Ji Hye Kim. TRIS, it might be good idea for you post a note there concurring the draft is acceptable. S0091 (talk) 17:24, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
That was quick. Have at it TRIS! S0091 (talk) 17:34, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you both for your help! Is there anything else I can do to move this forward? Diaeinsofa (talk) 12:50, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello edit

Hi, sorry could you make your explanation more simple, I am not a smart person and I apologize for that. Theduckguy (talk) 17:50, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your draft User:Theduckguy/sandbox has zero independent, reliable sources and that is what we base articles on, content like "Thedu_ckguy is an emerging social media influencer known for his presence on various platforms including Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok." is fine on social media but this is an encyclopaedia. Once newspapers and magazines start reporting on him/you, there is the possibility of an article in the future, but not yet. Theroadislong (talk) 18:13, 29 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Feedback edit

Hi there, I appreciate you look through my submission. I was just wondering could you give me some feedback and what I can do to improve my chances of my article being accepted. Is it the sources I'm using? I'm very new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Take care, Martynlukeact (talk) 09:35, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Lisa Frank edit

At the Help Desk, you wrote "If Lisa Frank passes WP:NARTIST you could start an article ...". That's a bit confusing. If it's the same Lisa Frank, there's no need to start an article. If a different one, it's a mistake to link to her article. (I don't know whether they're the same). Maproom (talk) 09:09, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/India_Art_Festival - Rejection by You edit

India Art Festival page created by me was rejected. After that it was edited and made nutral but it was rejected again.

India Art Festival is the only art fair in India happening in four cities and founded by the people associated with oldest public institutions. The content in page supported by well known newspapers in India is not a paid content by the event. Even if Google search is done on India Art Festival, you will find thousands of entries on this public event for emerging and young artists.

I do not have aurgument on rejection as it is for wikipedia to decide but this is arbitary and unjustified rejection. India Art Festival is public event and do not need advertisement on wikipedia. RAKL85 (talk) 15:11, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your draft Draft:India Art Festival was declined not rejected, The Times of India is not considered to be a reliable source, perhpas you could find better sources? Theroadislong (talk) 15:14, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi edit

As you mentioned, The Times of India is not a reliable source. I have seen 'Waluscha De Sousa' has most of the resources of The Times of India on her Wikipedia. Harwant Singh Arora (talk) 07:28, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Kerstin Preiwuß edit

Hello Theroadislong,

thank you for your comment on my draft.

According to WP:NWRITER, the creative professional is supposed to have won "significant critical attention". A nomination for the the German Book Prize is considered highly prestigious in the German speaking literature community and there are always lots of mentionings of the fact in the media following such a nomination. Also, the Eichendorff Prize and the prizes of the Deutsche Schillerstiftung are very reputable. So, doesn't that identify the author as notable?

Takeru Watanabe (talk) 19:24, 7 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I am not at all sure that Draft:Kerstin Preiwuß meets the criteria at WP:NWRITER, it's not clear to me that the nomination and prizes are notable in Wikipedia terms, so I have left it for another reviewer to have a look. Theroadislong (talk) 20:39, 7 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

IMDB edit

Hi there

I am not leaving imdb as a source but just as a matter of interest for the work that the company has done. Is this allowed?

Karinvanderlaag (talk) 15:50, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ok I just commented because IMDB will be ignored when reviewing. We also don't reviewer remove comments. Theroadislong (talk) 16:44, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
