Welcome to WikiProject University of Florida, this is a WikiProject that has been set up to better organize and present information in all articles related to University of Florida and the Florida Gators. This project is never-ending, and all are welcome to contribute...

This project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians to improve all UF-related articles in order to make Wikipedia an excellent resource for University of Florida and Florida Gators information for all who visit. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.


Scope and goals edit

This project is designed to help those interested in improving all of the UF-related articles on Wikipedia to find a particular area in which they are interested in working. As the University of Florida is a broad subject, there are many sub-projects and collaborations in which you can participate.

Reminder: All are welcome to make changes!!!

We want to edit

  1. Standardize the style and format of articles on any article pertaining to the University of Florida and Florida Gators subjects.
  2. Document alumni/athletes who attended or graduated from the University of Florida who have not been added yet.
  3. The alumni who have been added: need their profiles expanded on the List of University of Florida alumni page. In addition, please provide proper sources.
  4. Create a body of articles that accurately depicts the history and culture of the University of Florida and the Florida Gators.
  5. Expand the number of articles regarding the University of Florida, and subjects pertaining to this university. In addition, improve the quality as well.
  6. Highlight the University of Florida's relationship and contributions to the rest of the world.
  7. Properly source all UF-related articles, preferably using the <ref> element and the {{cite}} series of templates.
  8. Monitor the University of Florida and Florida Gators pages to assure no one vandalizes them.
  9. Update the pictures, images, and rankings for the University of Florida.
  10. Document and categorize the faculty who are currently or have previously taught at the University of Florida.
  11. Document all the athletic coaches who have ever been employed by the University of Florida.
  12. Document all academic administrators who have ever been employed by the University of Florida.

Dirtlawyer1 I'm a three-time graduate (BA '88, MA '93, JD '97). I now live in Atlanta, but feel drawn to certain UF athletics and history-releated subjects. I've been having fun editing several Gator coach and UF president articles.
ufgatorman I graduated from UF as well. I have been trying to make contributions to as many UF related wikipages as I can. I ended up finally creating an account because I wanted to start the Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator page. Go Gators!

Akraj I did my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1979 and also taught for two years in the same department before returning to India to run my own NGO. I have recently written my memoirs about UF times.
Hatmatbbat10 I don't really have any ties with the University but I am interested. The main things I can contribute to is articles about the Gators.
Polis4rule Not currently attending, but I know people who go there and plan on attending. I'm flexible and help out on any Gator article.

Swatjester I went to FSU, so this is treason for me. But my parents both went to UF undergrad, and my dad to UF law, and I was accepted to UF law and still have strong connections there even though I go to a different school. I'll help out when I can.

Jameson L. Tai I am currently a student at Florida Institute of Technology, so here's another user committing treason, but I am cleaning up some of the higher education articles and was invited in by User:Jccort.

Joanna Ingles Class of 2008 in the SA+AH. I lived in Mallory Hall all four years. I was invited and will continue to fix and add to articles where I can.
Mrtoes Class of 2006 (PhD) and 2002 (MA), instructor for English classes, and now a librarian building the University of Florida Digital Collections. Check out the photos of UF and people from UF in the University Photo Archives online for classic pictures of UF and Gainesville.
Smuckers I don't live in Florida or attend to plan UF, but I can help, esp. with sport articles.
Nikonmadness I currently attend UF, entering my sophomore year, and I am a photographer. I am a staff photographer for The Independent Florida Alligator and I am more than willing to help out with more photos that might otherwise be difficult for us to obtain. If you're working on an article that needs a photo, just send a message.
Tainted wesbo I currently attend UF as a 4th year Marketing major. I absolutely love the university, especially the sports teams, so I love to make lots of contributions to sports-related articles. I usually have a lot of time on my hands, so...I'll be around.
Fliry Vorru I currently attend UF. I am a Masters student in the Education department and the hall director of Tolbert Hall. I'll be most helpful in the Housing department articles (I work there), helping to add photography to pages, and with the marching band (I'm in it).

GerryShaw Live in Gainesville, work in the McKnight Brain Institute and also run a small biotech company EnCor Biotechnology Inc. Do Wiki stuff for fun sometimes.
Syntrik I received my Bachelors from UF in Microbiology & Cell Science.
WillMcC Been around campus since the Spurrier era and work at the Warrington College of Business Administration as well as take courses as a grad student. I have a Canon EOS 40D DSLR with a few lenses and am working towards a private pilot license, so if you need aerial photos of the area, I can probably help out.
Ocdmuch Currently attend UF and regularly attend most Gator sporting events. Expanded/created the Gator softball pages. Plan to work on the lesser-covered UF sports after softball is completed.
