Samuel Purchas
English writer (1577–1626)
Samuel Purchas (c. 1577 – 1626), an English cleric, published several volumes of reports by travellers to foreign countries. He is not to be confused with a Samuel Purchas (died c. 1658), author of A Theatre of Political Flying-Insects.
