Nawanagar, Maharaja of; H.H. Maharaja Kumar Singh Ranjitsinghji; s. of Jivansinghji, but adopted by his uncle Jam Shri Sir Vibhaji Ranmulji, Jam Sahib of Nawanagar, b. 1872; educ: Rajkot Rajkumar College, and Trinity College, Cambridge; belongs to the same family as the Rao of Cutch: a well-known cricketeer and champion batsman; has a squadron of Imperial Service Lancers numbering 145, and a sub-ordinate force of 211 men, of whom 26 are mounted, and a Police force of 876; area of the State, 3,701 square miles; population, 400,000; revenue, Rs. 25 lakhs; entitled to a salute of 11 guns.
