Can you tell me if you are running the wikipedia code? Can you write Python? A serious problem (perhaps the serious problem) with RobotGMwikt is that he didn't know how to maintain or modify the code. And the recursive lookup function it uses is horribly inefficient for the wikts. Robert Ullmann 07:22, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Frankly, I'm not a code guru, I'm just learning. I realize that current pywikipedia code may be not very effective for wiktionaries, and better solution would be a script running on the server side but I personally cannot develop such a script. At the same time I feel like it's better to have interwiki links for articles rather than not to have any, even if it produces some extra load on servers. It doesn't need to be a server-side script. The existing code chases all around the language wikis, trying to find and match up "translations". This is all horrendously inefficient and unnecessary for the wikts, where it only needs to know which ones have the same title. Would be easy to just download all of the lists of article titles, and then it could update links without looking at any of the other pages. Robert Ullmann 08:50, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
