Pamela Courson[edit]

Hey,

I just joined and have no idea, whether this is the normal way to contact someone else.. I noticed you added the photo of Pamela Courson to the English wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamela_Courson#/media/File:Pamela_Courson.jpg), the German one (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pamela_Courson) only contains pictures of the Doors and Jim Morrison..which seems just wrong. I tried adding it but seem to fail, would you mind helping out or uploading it yourself?

Cheers! Klerstory (talk) 12:37, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Klerstory. Welcome to Wikipedia. Yes, this is the usual way of contacting other editors. The image of Pamela Courson being used in the English article is included locally with a non-free use rationale. Each language edition of Wikipedia has different standards regarding non-free images. I'm not sure how German Wikipedia handles non-free images, but the page there de:Wikipedia:Bildrechte might explain. If they allow non-free images, the image would need to be uploaded on the German Wikipedia with a non-free rationale before it can be used there. I hope that helps. gobonobo + c 13:14, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2024 March newsletter[edit]

The first round of the 2024 WikiCup ended at 23:59 (UTC) on 27 February. Everyone with at least 30 points moved on to Round 2, the highest number of points required to advance to the second round since 2014. Due to a six-way tie for the 64th-place spot, 67 contestants have qualified for Round 2.

The following scorers in Round 1 all scored more than 300 points:

In this newsletter, the judges would like to pay a special tribute to Vami_IV (submissions), who unfortunately passed away this February. At the time of his death, he was the second-highest-scoring competitor. Outside the WikiCup, he had eight other featured articles, five A-class articles, eight other good articles, and two Four Awards. Vami also wrote an essay on completionism, a philosophy in which he deeply believed. If you can, please join us in honoring his memory by improving one of the articles on his to-do list.

Remember that any content promoted after 27 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. ITN recognition for John Okafor[edit]

On 5 March 2024, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article John Okafor, which you nominated and updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. PFHLai (talk) 22:16, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would have thought it was pretty obvious why an image displaying nudity was removed.

You clearly didn't refer first to the talk page related to the image. Braintic (talk) 02:49, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not censored. There was no discussion on the talk page. gobonobo + c 14:34, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There IS discussion on the talk page that dates back three weeks. Neither you nor anyone else chose to respond to my comments before you reverted. Not censoring does not mean a pointless display of nudity. Braintic (talk) 02:50, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Informations[edit]

Hi. Thank you very much for this improvement: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Parmitieddi&diff=prev&oldid=1213691611. There is only one reference to the parmitieddi article, but the pages of this reference aren't viewable; I don't know if only I have this problem. The Jack (talk) 16:08, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JackkBrown. I'm able to see the pages, but there isn't much there, just a paragraph or so. A search on Google Books for 'parmatielli' shows the Encyclopedia of Pasta source, which is viewable for me. I haven't been able to find other references that would be worth using for the article though. gobonobo + c 16:21, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
