Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! February 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Leh does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Kautilya3 (talk) 10:51, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yo yo ani ching, it is high time that you started writing edit summaries for edits. If you do wording changes, you can say "copyedit" if they do not alter the meaning. If they alter the meaning, a full explanation would be required. You should also do this one section at a time. Every section has its own edit button if you set your Preferences correctly. You need to make sure that all your edits will have WP:CONSENSUS. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:05, 25 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

March 2020[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Template:Railways in Allahabad. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Do not change Allahabad to Prayagraj. Maintain WP:COMMONNAME policy. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:06, 10 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Indic script[edit]

Information icon - Please do not add any Indic script, to any of our India related articles, as you did at Kanpur Central railway station, as this contravenes WP:NOINDICSCRIPT - Thank you - Arjayay (talk) 15:38, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for November 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Banka Junction railway station, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Banka. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:41, 5 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

May 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Kautilya3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Indo-Pakistani War of 1947–1948, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 10:30, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ARBIPA sanctions alert[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

June 2022[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dhruv edits. I noticed that you recently removed content from Proposed states and union territories of India without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Dhruv edits (talk) 04:30, 25 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Aurangabad. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 17:38, 30 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Place names[edit]

Information icon Please stop changing the names of places in our articles, to different spellings to those used as our article titles, as you did at Faizabad district and several other articles. We use the Common names in English for our articles, not the "Official names", so changing the spelling breaks internal links to those articles, and is confusing to our readers - thank you - Arjayay (talk) 09:09, 1 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
