  • CheckUser requested and endorsed by clerk - So much about this case is ducky, I hesitate to even ask for CU. But, I found something really odd on commons. In both co:File:Jasmin Bhasin.jpg and co:File:Varun Sood.jpg, the image was uploaded by Wefffrrr and then two minutes later, Shp03 came along and changed the licensing from cc-by-3.0 to cc-by-3.0-BollywoodHungama. So, yeah, obviously working in close collaboration, but if they're the same person, why this odd two-account dance to change the licensing tag? I'm really curious to see what CU divines from this, although to be honest, I'm not sure it will make any difference in the long run. -- RoySmith (talk) 19:29, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I ran a check to see if there were sleepers, but could find none; other than that, the check did not reveal anything particularly useful, aside from the fact that Shp03 recently edited from an IP that was subsequently hit by an autoblock intended for Wefffrrr. There's also a bunch of possibles based just on username, going back years, most of which have 0 edits. And User:Aniketgawali7/sandbox mentions Shubham Pawar, but I don't have time to chase all this down right now. -- RoySmith (talk) 15:17, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's clear that Shubhampawar253{253,9069,906} are all the same person from extensive editing overlap plus the obvious name similarity. I suspect ShubhamPawarb3 is also the same person but that account hasn't edited in 5 years, so I'm not going to do anything about it. -- RoySmith (talk) 23:09, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

They switched to 43.242.226.29 after .28 was blocked. .42 and .43 were both active before .28 was blocked. Previous also on .10, .11, .2. All these IPs are focused on TV and movies in India. I suggest a range block, a /26 should be sufficient as I don't see an IP over .63. The user has joined Wikipedia on the second day after Shubham8763 was blocked (25 June Blocked) . Exactly after 16 days the user has started moving the page ( Wikipedia Join 27 June and Page Moved 13 July [7] ) . Uploads images like an expert without mistake [8]. This user is contributing in the same page where Shubham last contributed [9]. Shubham uploaded the image with the name "File:Sarsenapati Hambirrao.jpeg" [10].   • The CU data isn't entirely conclusive here, but there is overlap on multiple IP ranges which puts me into  Possilikely (a mix between possible and likely) territory at the very least. However, the enormous overlap in editing interests, and the uploading of an identical file, leave me with little doubt that these are the same person. Blocking and tagging, closing.   •  Clerk assistance requested: - The /24 range of the IP has been blocked three times: the first by Ponyo in March 2021 for 3 months as a CU block, the second by me in March 2022 for one year as a result of a report at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Wefffrrr, and most recently on April 10 by Ponyo for a year for persistent addition of unsourced content. The two named accounts here were created after the last report at the Wefffrrr SPI. We have three choices: the first is to leave it here with the IP as master for evaluation before deciding where to move it; the second is to move it to Morekar, the older of the two named accounts; and the third is move it to the Wefffrrr SPI. I can see advantages to all three, but I lean slightly toward the third because (1) there is topic and article intersection with the Wefffrrr SPI and (2) it makes it easier to use the various tools at our disposal if all the allegedly related accounts are in one basket.   • I've run CU on the accounts. They look different from one another - same large country, but different UAs and no overlap on IP ranges. Neither has edited from the IP range listed. Can't rule out WP:MEAT, so will leave this open in case anybody wants to look at the editing more closely. Girth Summit (blether) 13:00, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
