From Proto-Semitic *ʿiśrū-. Compare Hebrew עֶשְׂרִים (ʿeśrīm), Aramaic עֶסְרִין (ʿesrīn) and Ugaritic 𐎓𐎌𐎗𐎎 (ʿšrm).
