USAID, education ministry and private sector launch six new applied technology schools in Egypt

USAID and the Ministry of Education, in partnership with Egyptian companies, launched on Thursday the International Applied Technology schools model in Egypt, USAID Egypt announced

According to the USAID, this partnership will establish six such schools across Egypt in Sharqiya, Assiut, Alexandria, Giza, and Minya, specializing in retail, electronics and artificial intelligence.

“The US Government places great emphasis on assisting the Government of Egypt in implementing its 2030 strategy that includes enhancing the quality of technical & vocational education to align with international standards,” US Ambassador to Cairo Jonathan R. Cohen said during the launch.

The USAID stated that the new schools aim to equip technical school graduates with technical skills as well as soft skills needed by the private sector.
