Egypt's keeper Mohamed El-Shenawi said on Wednesday that the Egyptian side has realised its target in the ongoing Olympic Games after securing a place in the tournament's quarters.

The Egypt U23 secured their place in the competition's top eight after defeating Australia 2-0 in the final day of the group stage on Wednesday.

They finished second in the group with four points, just one point behind leaders Spain.

"Our target was clear in reaching the competition's quarter finals," El-Shenawi told BeIN sports after the game.

"We produced a strong performance against Australia and I am very happy with this deserved win."

The international keeper has admitted that the Pharaohs will have a tough mission against Brazil in the quarter-finals on Saturday, stressing that all players will do their best during this anticipated game.
