On Sunday, a hostless one-hour, pre-taped 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards was simulcast on TNT and TBS, celebrating the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2020. It was a history-making night, with all four film acting categories going to POC for the first time. Going into the ceremony, the late Chadwick Boseman was nominated in the Male Actor in a Leading Role category for his performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and in the Supporting Role category for Da 5 Bloods, ultimately nabbing the award in the Leading Role category. The evening's big award Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture was a race betweenDa 5 Bloods, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Minari, One Night in Miami, and The Trial of the Chicago 7 to take the accolade.
