Volunteer in the Warehouse Food Lifeline relies on hundreds of business and corporate groups to sort and repack millions of pounds of food every year. Here’s a story created by just one of the many groups dedicated to supporting those experiencing hunger.
Seattle volunteer sessions take place Monday through Saturday at our Hunger Solution Center and are open to groups, families and individuals. You’ll sort bulk donations and repack sourced grocery items into family size portions so we can send it over to local food banks, shelters, and meal programs!

Our Seattle volunteer sessions are fun, rewarding, and inclusive! Because Food Lifeline is an industrial food-handling facility, we have a few guidelines in place to ensure everyone’s safety and success.
Each individual must register in advance to volunteer.
Volunteers are required to wear a face mask/face covering and maintain 6 feet social distancing at all times while in the facility.
For the safety of our staff and other volunteers, please reschedule if you are feeling ill.
Our warehouse environment can be cool. For your comfort, please dress in warm layers.
Closed-toed shoes are required to be worn while volunteering, no exceptions.
Food-safe gloves will be provided to be worn when handling food items.
Your work will be physical in nature and includes long periods of standing. You may be asked to lift up to 40 pounds.
Please arrive 15 minutes early and plan to participate during the entire session.
If you are running late, please call (206) 545-6600 to let us know. Volunteers who are more than 15 minutes late will need to reschedule.
Volunteers who are under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a consent form
Parking: Onsite parking is available in a limited capacity. Carpooling is recommended. Please let us know if you plan to bring a bus for your group.
Thank You To Our Volunteers
When our community was most in need, our volunteers helped us answer the call. Our amazing team of volunteers are essential to our work and we cannot thank them enough for everything they do. In April we celebrated volunteer appreciation month, but we would like to express our appreciation year round!
Hear from our President and CEO Linda Nageotte and other Food Lifeline staff members as they share their gratitude and how volunteers are critical to our mission!
