Stacy-Marie Ishmael

Stacy-Marie Ishmael has been building news products and teams for the majority of her career in journalism. At BuzzFeed, she was the managing editor in charge of launching the BuzzFeed News app. At the Financial Times, she was the newspaper’s first vice president of communities, and until November 2019 she served as a senior editor at Apple. Now the London School of Economics graduate is applying her cumulative experience and inherent digital savvy as editorial director at Texas Tribune, an Austin nonprofit news organization, at a time when local news that communities can trust is more important than ever.
