Contributing

As of November 2013, we plan to make a major overhaul of this app in the near future. The Wikipedia Zero team is taking over maintainership.

Deploying

Testing

  • Check the repository out in some directory
  • place it on a web server in /WikipediaMobileFirefoxOS subdirectory
  • test in browser, or:
  • install http(s)://path.to.server/WikipediaMobileFirefoxOS/manifest.webapp on Firefox OS device or simulator

Production

  • check out mediawiki-config git repository from Wikimedia Operations
  • modify the git submodule for docroot/wikimedia.org/WikipediaMobileFirefoxOS to current state
  • commit and 'git review'
  • have someone merge that config update, and...
  • have someone deploy that config update

We think the Firefox Marketplace will just pick up the updated manifest, but if necessary poke at the marketplace entry.
