The OverDrive app is compatible with native screen readers for Android, iOS, and Windows 8/10
OverDrive for Android, iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch), and Windows 8/10 is compatible with most accessibility programs and apps (including native ones like Android Accessibility Suite, VoiceOver for iOS, and Narrator for Windows). You can use these screen readers to navigate the app, browse for content, and listen to audiobooks.
Most screen readers will also read the text of an ebook, but this isn't fully supported and may not function ideally.
If you'd like to read accessible ebooks on your computer, we recommend downloading EPUB ebooks with Adobe Digital Editions because it's compatible with most screen readers.
If you'd like to read accessible ebooks on your mobile device, you can borrow Kindle Books (U.S. only) through OverDrive, send them to the Kindle reading app, and read them using screen readers made for Android or iOS.
