  • CDC WONDER (Gov): WONDER the Wide-ranging Online Data for Epidemiologic Research is the US Centers for Disease Control and Preventions' single point of access to a variety of public health reports and data systems, both local and external, categorized by topic.

  • Census.gov (Gov): Serves as a leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy.

  • CINAHL Complete (EBSCO): CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) provides indexing of the top nursing and allied health literature available including nursing journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses Association. Literature covers a wide range of topics including nursing, biomedicine, health sciences librarianship, alternative/complementary medicine, consumer health and 17 allied health disciplines. Point of Care information is provided via evidence-based care sheets and quick lessons. Creating a personal account will allow users to take advantage of the free CE opportunities included with the quick lessons.

  • ClinicalTrials.gov (Gov): This Web-based resource provides patients, their family members, health care professionals, researchers, and the public with easy access to information on publicly and privately supported clinical studies on a wide range of diseases and conditions. The Web site is maintained by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

  • Cochrane Library Databases: A collection of six databases that contain different types of high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. A seventh database provides information about the Cochrane groups. Search all databases simultaneously.

    • Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR): The leading resource for systematic reviews in  systematic reviews of research in healthcare and health policy . Reviews are updated to reflect the findings of new evidence when it becomes available which make them valuable sources of information for those receiving and providing care, as well as for decision-makers and researchers. The Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews is the official guide that describes in detail the process of preparing and maintaining Cochrane systematic reviews on the effects of healthcare interventions. The current complete version of the Handbook is 5.1 (updated March 2011), edited by Julian Higgins and Sally Green.

    • Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL): The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) is a highly concentrated source of reports of randomized and quasi-randomized controlled trials. The majority of CENTRAL records are taken from bibliographic databases (mainly MEDLINE and Embase), but records are also derived from other published and unpublished sources. In addition to bibliographic details (author, source, year, etc.) CENTRAL records will often include an abstract (a summary of the article). They do not contain the full text of the article.

    • Cochrane Methodology Register (CMR): The Cochrane Methodology Register (CMR) is a bibliography of publications that report on methods used in the conduct of controlled trials. It includes journal articles, books, and conference proceedings, and the content is sourced from MEDLINE and hand searches. CMR contains studies of methods used in reviews and more general methodological studies that could be relevant to anyone preparing systematic reviews. CMR records contain the title of the article, information on where it was published (bibliographic details), and, in some cases, a summary of the article. They do not contain the full text of the article.

    • Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE): Funding for DARE ceased at the end of March 2015. The last updates to DARE were published in published in the 30 April 2015 issue of the Cochrane Library. The Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE) was the only database to contain abstracts of systematic reviews that had been quality-assessed. Each abstract included a summary of the review together with a critical commentary about the overall quality. DARE covered a broad range of health related interventions and reviews in fields as diverse as diagnostic tests, public health, health promotion, pharmacology, surgery, psychology, and the organization and delivery of health care.

    • Health Technology Assessment Database (HTA): The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Database brings together details of completed and ongoing health technology assessments (studies of the medical, social, ethical, and economic implications of healthcare interventions) from around the world. The aim of the HTA Database is to improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care.

    • NHS Economic Evaluation Database (EED): Funding for NHS EED ceased at the end of March 2015. The NHS Economic Evaluation Database (EED) assisted decision-makers by systematically identifying economic evaluations from around the world, appraising their quality, and highlighting their relative strengths and weaknesses. The last update of April 2015 contained bibliographic records from searches of MEDLINE, Embase, CIN April 2015 onwards, until further notification.

  • Corporate ResourceNet (EBSCO): This database provides full text articles from nearly 1,200 quality magazines and journals. It includes full text sources ranging from general publications such as Fortune and Money to trade publications such as American Demographics, Chemical Week, Electronic Business and Restaurant Hospitality. The collection of titles includes top management journals such as Academy of Management Executive, California Management Review and Harvard Business Review.   • ERIC (GOV): Education Resources Information Center Institute of Education Sciences, US Department of Education. Bibliographic database including >1.3 million citations to journal articles and other education-related materials going back to 1969. to >334,000 full-text journal and non-journal documents.

  • ERIC (EBSCO): Education Resource Information Center, provides access to education literature and resources. The database provides access to information from journals included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. The database contains more than 1.3 million records and links to more than 323,000 full-text documents dating back to 1966.   • Evidence Aid: Evidence Aid, along with partners (including the International Rescue Committee (USA) and Cochrane), assess published systematic reviews and identify those that are relevant to natural disasters, humanitarian crises or major healthcare emergencies, that include health outcomes. There are eight disaster-specific Special Collections. Three are available through the Cochrane Library for Burns, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Flooding and Poor Water Sanitation. Four Special Collections are available directly from the Evidence Aid website – Windstorms, Earthquakes, Ebola, The Health of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Europe and Zika.   • Health Canada: is the Federal regulating department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health, while respecting individual choices and circumstances.

  • Health Policy Reference Center (EBSCO): This comprehensive full-text database is designed to support the creation, implementation, or study of health policy and the health care system. This collection offers full-text coverage of information relevant to many areas integral to health policy, including: access, administration, economics, planning, reform, insurance, law, research, ethics, public health, and social medicine.   • Health Services/Technology Assessment Text (HSTAT) (NLM): Access to full-text documents useful in health care decision-making: clinical practice guidelines, quick reference guides, evidence reports, technology assessments, and research protocols.

  • HealthStar (OVID): HealthSTAR is comprised of data from the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) MEDLINE. It contains citations to the published literature on health services, technology, administration, and research. It focuses on both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of health care delivery. The following topics are included: evaluation of patient outcomes; effectiveness of procedures, programs, products, services and processes; administration and planning of health facilities, services and manpower; health insurance; health policy; health services research; health economics and financial management; laws and regulation; personnel administration; quality assurance; licensure; and accreditation.
