To set up a computer in your office on campus, contact your department's IT Pro. The data jack needs to be activated and an IP address assigned.

Note:
To learn the name of your department's IT Pro, consult your supervisor, your departmental website, or IT People. If you still cannot identify your IT Pro, call the UITS Support Center at 812-855-6789 (Bloomington) or 317-274-4357 (Indianapolis).

Wireless on campus

If your computer has a wireless network card, you can make a wireless connection to the IU network at most locations on IU campuses.

For visitors to IU

If you are not affiliated with IU but are visiting campus, see Wireless for IU visitors.

Off-campus connections

For details about making your home network as fast and reliable as possible, see Tips for accessing the internet from home for remote work or learning.

For help setting up cable modem or DSL service, contact an internet service provider (ISP) in your area. Your ISP will give you instructions to configure your computer.

You may then wish to use a VPN connection to access certain resources.
