Online Services and Supports

Patrons are encouraged to access the following on-line services:

  • Online LiveHelp Chat, Email and AskUs: Visit the online chat service available for help with research. Patrons can also access research assistance via email or our AskUs service. Please see: https://capebreton.libanswers.com/ 
  • Databases, ebooks and online sources: Our databases, ebooks and other online sources will continue to be available via the CBU Library. Remember to use the ‘Off Campus Access’ button under the popular tasks menu in order to access all of our online resources from home @ https://libguides.cbu.ca/homepage
  • Tutorials for using the library are available here:

Circulation

  • Remote Request is a service to mail items to students not near a Novanet institution for pickup. Please read the form here for more information and to request a pickup.
  • Please be advised that the Library is open to students, faculty, staff, and the public. All members of the public must use the Great Hall entrance and sign in with proof of vaccination at the Welcome Centre.
  • Rooms may be booked using Book A Room. If you need to pickup items or return materials, our Circulation Desk is open or you may use Curbside Pickup/Contactless 24/7 Return Bin located inside the first set of doors at the back of the library (beside the daycare).
  • Reserve items are available at the Circulation Desk.
  • Novanet Express is available, however books may be slower than usual to arrive. Please note that reserve items cannot be requested. Interlibrary loan is available, but may be slower than normal.
