Workshop: How to Analyze Primary Sources

Join us on March 1, 2021 at 11:30am for a workshop on how to analyze primary sources.

There is much we can learn from historical documents if we ask the right questions. Presented by the Special Collections and Archives at Clemson University, this workshop will provide a brief overview of how to analyze a variety of primary source types, such as letters, paintings, photos, and more. We will cover the standard questions a reader must “ask” of the primary source, how to put the source into historical context, and how to figure out what the source “means” to your research and understanding of a topic. The workshop is geared towards students who are new to using primary sources in their research. Please join us in getting to know the past!
