What is government information?
Governments make laws and other rules, provide services, collect and spend taxes, and otherwise make decisions that affect their citizens and residents.
Government information generally includes those documents issued or published under the authority of a government body, be it international, national/federal, provincial/territorial, municipal or intergovernmental. It can take many forms, including books, websites, maps, statistics and data, posters, press releases, advertisements, audio-visual material, laws and other legislative materials, policy documents, and other records of government activity.
