Chat

Welcome

Temple University Libraries is pleased to support you in your academic and creative pursuits. We offer a variety of services and resources to help you succeed, a few of which I highlight below. If you want to learn even more about how the Libraries can support you, I invite you to explore our website, visit us at one of our service desks, or get in touch via email, chat, or phone.

Library Search is a great first stop for research materials. Here, you can browse books, media, articles, journals, databases, and even some of materials in the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) and the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection. Each of these special collections is also well worth a trip to view materials in person. At the SCRC, you can view materials documenting the region’s urban development as well as university archives, rare books, and so much more, while the Blockson Collection is a leading research facility for the study of African and African American history and culture and home to a range of books, photographs, manuscripts, sheet music, and rare ephemera.

For help getting started, you might find our subject-specific research guides useful. Personalized assistance is also available from our subject librarians and subject matter experts. Visit our Contact Us page to find staff members, book an appointment, or ask general questions.

If you are interested in learning more about our publishing and scholarly communications initiatives, check out Temple University Press. The Press is part of our library enterprise and has been invested in publishing socially engaged scholarship for over 50 years. And last year, we formed the Center for Scholarly Communication and Open Publishing(SCOP) to help nurture new ideas and models for realizing an open, inclusive, and sustainable scholarly publishing landscape. Core SCOP initiatives include the joint Press and Libraries open access imprint, North Broad Press, and TUScholarShare, Temple’s institutional repository.

Our Beyond the Page public programming series offers a variety of free events, workshops, and exhibits. And those interested in making and/or exploring virtual reality can access the Libraries’ advanced equipment and technology in Charles Library’s Loretta C. Duckworth Scholars Studio and the Ginsburg Health Sciences Library’s Innovation Space

Be sure to follow the Libraries' newsletters and social media accounts for even more library news and updates. We look forward to supporting you this academic year and hope to see at the Libraries soon.

With warm regards,

Joe Lucia
