Document Delivery

We offer electronic delivery of book chapters and journal articles to Temple University faculty, distance learners, and students with disabilities.

Library staff will scan print items available in our collection and deliver those items directly to your email. For items that are checked out, missing, or not owned by Temple University Libraries, we will submit an Resource Sharing (ILLiad)request to our partner libraries.

Who can request items? 

  • Distance learners
  • Students with disabilities (students must be registered with Disability Services prior to request)
  • Faculty 

What items can I request? 

  • Books chapters: Scans include up to 20% of a book (capped at 50 pages) 
  • Journal articles 

How do I request items? 

All items must be requested through Resource Sharing (ILLiad). To use Document Delivery, register for and log in to your ILLiad account.

You must submit a unique request for each item. 

When will I receive my electronic document?

Once the request has been made, library staff will deliver a pdf of the requested material directly to your email.

  • Items available at TU Libraries: 1-3 business days
  • Items that are missing, checked out, or not owned by TU Libraries: Turnaround times for items requested via Interlibrary Loan are dependent on the lender’s ability to supply us with the requested document(s).
