Print, Photocopy & Scan

The Libraries offer printers, photocopiers, and scanners for use by our patrons.

Print

Printing for Temple University students, faculty and staff is managed through Information Technology Services.

Charles Library 

  • 1st floor: 1 black and white printer by One Stop Assistance Desk
  • 1st floor: 1 black and white printer by Community Computer Lab
  • 2nd floor: 1 black and white printer by classrooms
  • 3rd floor: 1 black and white printer in the Reading Room
  • 4th floor: 1 black and white printer in the Quiet Reading Room

Ambler Campus Library

  • 1 black and white laser printer, does not accept cash

Ginsburg Health Sciences Library

  • 1 black and white printer on each of the 3 floors
  • 1 color printer on the 1st floor/street level

Krausz Library of Podiatric Medicine 

  • 1 black and white printer 
  • 1 color printer

The best way to print in Charles Library is through Temple's Print on the Go service. 

Costs and policies

Printing costs depend on your current affiliation as a student, faculty, staff member, recent alumni, or guest at Temple. Currently-enrolled Temple University students paying the University Services Fee receive a free printing quota, while faculty and staff may pay for printing through their Diamond Dollars account.

Cash printing

Cash printing is currently not available to patrons. Community patrons can request a complimentary print at the One Stop Assistance Desk. 

Photocopy

Our copiers are available in multiple locations for personal photocopying in black and white (and color at Charles). Machines accept Diamond Dollars and cash. Our photocopiers are all configured with automatic document feeders and can make double sided copies. HP stocks our copiers with recycled paper.

How to photocopy

  1. Swipe your Temple University ID card. (with Diamond Dollars on it)
  2. Under paper supply, select more, then choose a tray to match the size and orientation of the page on the glass. Press SAVE. 
  3. Press the START button to make the copy.

Costs

All Library photocopiers accept Diamond Dollars by swiping your Temple University ID card. The student free printing quota cannot be used in the copiers.

Scan

Scanning in Charles Library will be done through the copy machines. You can scan documents and send them to your email. Traditional desktop flatbed scanners are still available at the branch campus libraries. An overhead scanner is available near the Community Computer Lab in Charles Library. 
The libraries recommend scanning as a preferred method to making photocopies whenever possible. There are no costs associated with scanning.

  • 1 scanner on the second floor (behind the staircase)
